Why Bet the Kansas City Chiefs Odds at +3.5?

The best reason to back the Kansas City Chiefs in this Week 3 affair is that they have a really good defense and could force Wilson and the Seahawks to struggle, particularly in the first half.

The Chiefs dropped their scrimmage opener by falling against San Francisco 27-17 two weeks ago, but bounced back to beat Cincinnati 30-12 in Week 2 as Alex Smith completed eight of nine passes for 83 yards and one touchdown, First round draft pick Patrick Mahomes II completed 10 of 14 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns and third-stringer Tyler Bray added another passing score.

Running back Charcandrick West led the rushing attack with a stellar 113 yards on seven carries, including a 50-yard run while wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas caught a team-high three passes for 31 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Josh Mauga recorded a team-high seven tackles while defensive back Eric Murray picked off one pass.

Why Bet the Seattle Seahawks Odds at -3.5?

The Seattle Seahawks have looked really good this preseason and are playing at home which makes them tough to beat at any time of the year. After rolling all over the Los Angeles Chargers in their 48-17 Week 1 scrimmage win, Seattle got past Minnesota 20-13 in Week 2 as Russell Wilson completed 13 of 18 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

Wilson tossed a 1-yard TD pass to Kasen Williams and hooked up with Mike Davis on a 22-yard score as Seattle’s offense moved the ball efficiently in the first half against the Vikings’ normally stingy defense. Wilson and company put up an impressive 241 yards of offense before halftime.

Expert Analysis and NFL Preseason Prediction

While the Chiefs have won three straight against the Seahawks, these inter-conference foes haven’t met since 2014. While the Chiefs are one of my favorite title contenders in the AFC and my pick to win consecutive AFC West division titles in 2017, I’m going to advise you to go with Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks to get the win and narrow ATS cover in this Week 3 matchup.

I know the Chiefs are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall, but Seattle has gone 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and the favorite in this series is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 meetings overall. While Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has posted a stellar 12-6 record in Week 3 preseason games, Seattle’s Pete Carroll is a solid 5-2 in Week 3 scrimmage matchups and his team is super difficult to beat at home. I like the Seattle Seahawks to win and narrowly cover the spread, but the Over 43 total points is looking like an excellent wager as well.
