In 2015, the Rams were 37-13 home losers to the Bears – neither team was all that good that year. Zach Miller caught two TD passes and Jeremy Langford also had two TDs. Neither is still with the Bears. One of Miller’s was an 87-yarder, the longest receiving TD by a Bears tight end since Willard Dewveall had a 91-yarder in 1960 against the 49ers. It was the longest receiving touchdown by any tight end since Heath Miller’s 87-yarder in 2006 for Pittsburgh against the Dolphins. The Rams were still in St. Louis then and Nick Foles was the starting QB. Jared Goff was still in college. Why Bet on LA Rams?
The Rams improved to 11-1 and clinched the NFC West division with a 30-16 victory over Detroit at Ford Field on Sunday. The Rams have won consecutive division titles for the first time since the 1978-79 seasons. Jared Goff completed 17-of-33 passes for 207 yards with a touchdown and an interception while losing two yards on his two rushing attempts. He lost 12 yards on two sacks and was also charged with a lost fumble. Coming off a 413-yard masterpiece in his last game against the Chiefs in Week 11, Goff looked noticeably rusty coming off the Rams’ bye. Todd Gurley rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams’ victory. Gurley has 1,649 scrimmage yards and 19 touchdowns in his team’s first 12 games this season and is the eighth different player in league history to record at least 1,600 scrimmage yards and 18 touchdowns in his team’s first 12 games of a season. Six of the previous seven players to accomplish the feat are enshrined in the Hall of Fame – Jim Brown (1958 and 1965), Terrell Davis (1998), Eric Dickerson (1983), O.J. Simpson (1975), Emmitt Smith (1995) and LaDainian Tomlinson (2006). Brandin Cooks had four catches for 62 yards in the win and has 1,026 receiving yards this season, his fourth consecutive season with at least 1,000 receiving yards. Cooks, who had 1,173 receiving yards with the Saints in 2016 and 1,082 yards with the Patriots in 2017, is the first player in NFL history to record 1,000+ receiving yards with three different teams in three consecutive seasons. Cooks is the sixth player in league annals to record at least 1,000 receiving yards in a single season for three or more teams at any point in his career. Aaron Donald, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, finished with two sacks Sunday, both in the fourth quarter and both accentuating his late-game dominance this season. Donald leads the NFL with 7.5 sacks and 21 pressures in the fourth quarter, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. His 16.5 sacks this season are the most by a defensive tackle through 12 games since 1982.Why Bet on Chicago?
The Bears were upset 30-27 in OT at the Giants on Sunday. Chicago defensive tackle Akiem Hicks recorded one sack and rushed for a one-yard score in the Bears’ overtime loss at the New York Giants. Hicks is the second Bears defensive lineman to rush for a touchdown in the regular season, joining William “the Refrigerator” Perry, who accomplished the feat twice in 1985 (October 21 vs. Green Bay and November 24 vs. Atlanta). Chase Daniel completed 26-of-39 passes for 285 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Daniel should have had a third interception but DB Curtis Riley dropped an easy one. The Bears were down by 10 with less than two minutes left in regulation, and Daniel was able to amass a bunch of yards throwing to Tarik Cohen in garbage time. The Bears kicked a field goal, recovered an onside kick, and then Cohen threw a TD to Anthony Miller to tie it with no time left and send it to OT. The Bears recovered all four of Daniel’s fumbles, but three of them came on their only overtime possession, turning second-and-three into third-and-12, second-and-two into third-and-four and third-and-four into a fourth-and-eight play that they failed to convert, ending the game. It’s thought that starting QB Mitch Trubisky will return from his shoulder injury this week. Trubisky received medical clearance to resume throwing, which he did Friday at practice and Sunday before kickoff during a pregame workout. Cohen rushed eight times for 30 yards and caught 12-of-14 targets for 156 yards, adding a one-yard touchdown pass. Cohen became the first non-quarterback with a tying or go-ahead touchdown pass on the final play of regulation in the Super Bowl era. With only Kyle Fuller’s interception, the Bears failed to generate multiple takeaways for just the second time this season and had a negative turnover differential in a game for the first time this year. They entered Week 13 leading the NFL with 29 takeaways and 20 interceptions.Rams vs Bears NFL Week 14 Betting Trends
