NFL 2021 Regular Season: Arizona vs Jacksonville Betting Analysis & Prediction

The season hasn’t started well for the Jacksonville Jaguars. When proven winner Urban Meyer was brought in to take over the Jags head coaching role, many thought that this is what Jacksonville needed. With many players voicing their displeasure with some of Meyer’s methods, things haven’t gone as planned. On top of that Jacksonville has started the season off at 0-2, and has looked bad at times. This Sunday will be a tough one for them, as the Arizona Cardinals and their high-flying offense will head to Jacksonville. It’s time to take a look at the upcoming match between Arizona and Jacksonville so you can bet against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting Preview for Arizona Cardinals at Jacksonville

Jacksonville Jaguars Analysis

After a season-opening loss to the Houston Texans, followed by a loss to the Denver Broncos, the Jaguars are still looking for their first victory of the season. Trevor Lawrence has looked good at times but has had his struggles. In last week’s game, Lawrence was limited to 118 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. The Jacksonville offense was limited to a measly 189 yards of total offense.

While the Jaguars’ defense could potentially be a good unit, they may have to wait until next season. They gave up 398 yards of offense to the Broncos. Josh Allen will be a star in the league, as he has shown that he can get to the quarterback. After Allen, this young group still has a lot of growing up to do.

Arizona Cardinals Analysis

Kliff Kingsbury’s squad comes into this one with a 2-0 mark. They opened up the season with a dominant victory over the Tennessee Titans. Last week, Arizona survived a late missed field goal to beat the Minnesota Vikings 34-33.

Kyler Murray has had a great start to the season. He has thrown for 689 yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. With DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and Rondale Moore, Murray has a great set of receivers. He has a nice duo of running backs in Chase Edmonds and James Conner. With his skill set, Murray could put up some huge numbers this season.

Defensively, the Cardinals look like an improved unit from last season. Although they gave up 419 yards and 33 points to a good Vikings offense, the Cardinals’ defense looks like it could be a very tough group later in the season. Chandler Jones is one of the top pass rushers in the league, while second-year linebacker Isaiah Simmons has been a tackling machine for the Cardinals.

Prediction

Arizona has been made a seven-point favorite on Sunday. In their last 18 road games, the Cardinals are 11-5-2 against the spread. Jacksonville is 1-4 against the spread in its last five games at TIAA Bank Field. While Jacksonville will keep the game close, we see the Cardinals pulling away late and covering the seven-point spread. Their offense will be too much for the Jaguars. With Kyler Murray firing on all cylinders, we think the Cardinals’ offense will be able to put up some big points against the Jacksonville defense. Lawrence and company will also be able to score, but it won’t be enough, as the Cardinals will defeat the Jaguars 34-24.
