NFL 2021 Regular Season: Tennessee vs Seattle Betting Analysis & Prediction

The Seattle Seahawks (1-0) and Tennessee Titans (0-1) will meet in week 2 action of the NFL at Luman Field Sunday afternoon. The Seahawks are favored on NFL odds after a convincing performance against a solid Colts squad.

NFL Betting Preview for Tennessee Titans at Seattle

Series History

The Seattle Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans come into this matchup having previously played 17 times throughout the years, with the Seahawks getting the better of the Titans 10 of those times. The last time these two teams met it was a shootout with the Titans prevailing 33 to 27. It’s not often that these two teams meet because they are in opposing conferences, having played only 17 times since 1977, however, it should be a fun and exciting matchup as both teams are very skilled on both sides of the ball.

Why Bet on Seattle?

The Seahawks looked strong in their 28-16 win over the Colts last Sunday. The offense was rolling early for new Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron and the Seahawks as Russell Wilson put the team on his back and threw for 4 touchdowns and 254 yards, completing 18 of his 23 passes. Wilson’s 4 touchdown passes and no interceptions is the 11th such game in his career and the most through a quarterback’s first 10 seasons.

The Seattle offense clicked early as the team got off to an impressive start scoring touchdowns on 3 of their 4 possessions in the first half. Using a balanced attack, the Seahawks controlled the clock, running back Chris Carson cruised for 91 yards on 16 carries. Tyler Lockett was the standout wide receiver in the game, catching a 69 yard bomb down the field that sparked the offense in the early going.

The biggest question coming into the season was how Seattle’s defense would stack up after the loss of key players like DT Jarren Reed, LB K.J Wright, and CB Shaquem Griffin. While it wasn’t a performance for the ages, the defense stepped up and kept a strong Colts running game quiet and most importantly eliminated big plays. Although the Seahawks allowed two early touchdowns, they were able to make adjustments and get two fourth-down stops limiting the Colts to just 16 points.

Why Bet on Tennessee?

To put it candidly, the Titans did not look great as they are trying to rebound from a disappointing loss to the Arizona Cardinals at home 38-13. For an offense that looked really good during the 2020 season, the Titans could not get anything going. Their offensive line allowed 6 sacks and 9 quarterback hits, and did minimal blocking for their stud running back Derrick Henry. Be that as it may, Ryan Tannehill threw for 212 yards, tossing 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Derrick Henry bruised his way to 58 yards rushing, while A.J. Brown caught the lone touchdown pass. Above all else, this offense is still capable of exploding at any moment. With the addition of Julio Jones, if the offensive line can make adjustments against a weak Seahawk rush defense, they can march down the field against the Seahawks.

Despite the crushing loss, Kristian Fulton stood out at cornerback causing 2 pass breakups, one of which in the end zone, and finishing with 3 tackles. Additionally, Harold Landry got off to a nice start at outside linebacker. He was in the backfield constantly and had one of the team’s 2 sacks on the day. If the defense shows up, they could wreak havoc for Seattle and their offensive line issues.
