With the NFL draft now just a few short days away, the majority of what we are seeing on newsfeeds are rumors about moved that teams might make before and during the draft. If any of these rumors are to be believed, then we might be some in for some blockbuster moves before all is said and done. As you might imagine, some of the stories that we are hearing are little more than conjecture and can be taken with a grain of salt, but as we have seen in the past, where there is smoke, there is very often fire. Let’s get into some of the NFL rumors that are making headlines so you can keep planning your bets against their NFL odds for the upcoming season.
NFL Rumors & Betting News April 26th Edition
Whenever you have a new head coach taking over and heading into his first draft, there are always going to be rumors to address. That is the situation in Atlanta right now, and while there was an expectation that Matt Ryan might be in among the rumors of a potential move, very few people imagined that Julio Jones would be in the conversation, too. The Falcons say they have no interest in trading away their star WR, but reports suggest that several teams are tabling offers. Could one of those prove to be too good to pass up?
It is no secret that the San Francisco 49ers are looking to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo at QB, but who do they have their eye on in terms of a replacement. It wasn’t so long ago that Justin Fields looked as though he might be the man going at #3, but more recent reports suggest that the 49ers are torn between Mac Jones and Trey Lance. The Denver Broncos have said that they are unlikely to trade up, as they feel that Jones might still be available at #9. That could be a bit of a gamble, but we are going to need to wait and see.
There are several teams who are reportedly looking to trade up or down in the draft, with the Eagles, Vikings, and Patriots all said to be mulling moves. The Patriots seem to be the most likely of that group to do something, especially give their QB situation. They have Cam Newton coming back for another season, but after what went down last year, it seems unlikely that he will be the long-term solution in Foxboro. Instead, the Patriots are said to be keen on Justin Fields, but getting him may well require them swinging some type of deal.
One move that can be confirmed saw the Kansas City Chiefs try to shore up their offensive line by picking up Orlando Brown from the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs, who gave up a bunch of draft picks to get their man, will more than likely slot Brown in at left tackle now that Eric Fisher has been allowed to leave. As for the Ravens, they are reportedly interested in acquiring Alejandro Villanueva from the Pittsburgh Steelers in a move that would not be very pleasing to fans in the Steel City.
