SB 50 Spread and Game Total Changes since AFC/NFC Championship Games

We are getting down to crunch time before the 50th Super Bowl in National Football League history. This game is going to take place at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara California, which is the new home of the San Francisco 49ers. This year’s Super Bowl features two new teams from a season ago, in which the New England Patriots downed the Seattle Seahawks. Once the NFC and AFC Championship games were over, Vegas had the online sportsbook betting lines ready for Super Bowl 50. While the point spread for the Super Bowl has changed significantly since its opening day, the total has stayed the same.

Line Moving Towards Carolina & the Over

The Carolina Panthers came into the game as favorites in the Super Bowl. Remember, Carolina comes into the game with just that one lone loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers have been blowing teams out, and are getting a ton of love with their quarterback Cam Newton. Carolina has moved all the way from -3.5 to -6 at!

That’s crazy, but a ton of big money bettors are taking the Carolina Panthers. For the total points, there has been no change in this game. This is a game that is featuring a really good offense, and a solid defense, against a great defense, and an average offense. Super Bowl 50 game total is marked right at 45.5 currently and has been sitting at 45 most of the week.

Super Bowl 50 Spread Pick & Prediction

The Carolina Panthers are the better team in this game, but we have seen over time that is not always how a game works out. The Panthers should be able to use their passing attack, as long as the offensive line holds out and stops Von Miller. The Carolina defense has been sneaky good, led by Luke Kuechly.

Look for them to make every effort to get after the veteran quarterback Peyton Manning. The Broncos run game is not super, and we have seen Manning struggle most of the season. The Carolina Panthers at -3.5 was an awesome bet, but at 6, it’s a little tougher. Still, the Carolina Panthers will likely win this game by a touchdown, so taking the Carolina Panthers -6 at is still the way to go here.

Betting the Total for Super Bowl 50

The total is a little bit tougher, because both of these teams could turn a throw into a touchdown on the other side in a heartbeat. Both defenses have the capability to come up with a pick 6, that would total change the complexion of the total score. The Panthers should put points in the board, and look to settle in the mid to upper 20’s. It’s safe to say the Carolina Panthers will throw at least 27 points on the board.

The question now sits, if the Panthers score 27 points, will the Broncos hold up their end of the bargain. 17 would not do it in this case. A 28-17 score could still be likely, but more likely is a 27-20 game where Carolina wins by that touchdown, and it goes over 45. The over 45.5 is the better bet here!

There you have it. The Super Bowl 5 Point Spread and Total has changed since the NFC and AFC Championships, and these are the best bets to take on Super Bowl Sunday!
