Why Bet On Seattle at +4?

Seahawks picked up a solid 22-14 win over Denver in their opener as backup quarterback Paxton Lynch completed 11 of 15 passes for 109 yards and one touchdown after sitting out the entire 2018 campaign. Running back Xavier Turner led the Seahawks with 42 yards on 13 carries as Seattle rushed for 151 yards in total to get the win.

“I just wanted to show myself all the hard work I had put in had paid off,” Lynch said. “I had a long offseason basically. While everyone else was playing I was at home, I wasn’t playing, I was watching on TV. I was working hard. I was building myself up, believing in myself and trying to get back to where I was, and trying to figure out how I could do that.”

Defensively, Seattle has three sacks while Austin Calitro led the Seahawks with six tackles and Jamar Taylor added one interception in the win.

Why Bet On Minnesota at -4?

The Vikings used their new offense to get past New Orleans 34-25 in their preseason opener. Starting quarterback Kirk Cousins was a perfect 4 for 4 for 65 yards and one touchdown while backups Sean Mannion and Kyle Sloter both added TD tosses in the win. Running back Mike Boone led the Vikings with 71 yards on four carries, while Tyler Conklin had 56 receiving yards on two catches.

“To be able to rotate that many different players in at so many different positions throughout four quarters and continue to have sustained success moving the football, I think it does say a lot about Kevin’s play calling and about the system and about the execution,” Cousins said. “So many guys got involved in the game and made plays.”

Defensively, Cameron Smith led the Vikings with seven tackles while Jalyn Holmes added one sack in the win.

Expert Analysis and Prediction for Seahawks vs Vikings

I know the Minnesota Vikings are playing at home in this Week 2 matchup, but I like Seattle to cover the chalk at the very least as Russell Wilson sees a bit of action in this contest and Paxton Lynch looks to impress again. The Seahawks are a blistering 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games against their NFC counterparts and a bankroll-boosting 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall. While the Vikings have gone 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 home games, Minnesota is also just 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings against Seattle, not to mention the fact that I’m not all that enamored with either, Sean Mannion or Kyle Sloter.

Seattle has three quarterbacks on their roster with starting experience and that will be the difference in this preseason matchup featuring two coaches that generally go all-out to win in the preseason in Seattle’s Pete Carroll (23-14) and Minnesota’s Mike Zimmer (18-4).

Pick: Seattle 23 Minnesota 21
