Seattle at NY Jets Expert Pick & Betting Odds

Written by on September 29, 2016

The NY Jets will look to bounce back from their horrific Week 3 loss to Kansas City while the Seattle Seahawks look to build on their impressive blowout over San Francisco last weekend. Now, let’s find out which one of these Super Bowl hopefuls is offering the most value in the NFL odds.

Let’s Take a Closer Look at the Seattle at NY Jets Expert Pick, Betting Odds & TV Info

When: Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM ET Where: MetLife Stadium TV: FOX Live Stream: NFL Live Radio: Seattle / New York NFL Odds: New York Jets +3.5 Over/Under: 40.5

Why bet on the Seattle Seahawks?

The Seahawks are playing elite defense once again! Seattle rolled all over San Francisco in its 37-18 Week 3 win over their NFC West division rivals. Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson went 15-of- 23 for 243 yards and one touchdown while running back Christine Michael rushed 20 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Veteran wide receiver Doug Baldwin caught eight passes for 164 yards and one touchdown. For the season, Wilson has thrown for 755 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Michael leads the rushing attack with 232 yards and two scores on 45 carries. Baldwin has caught a team-high 20 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns. Seattle is ranked 28th in scoring (17.3 ppg) but a stellar second in points allowed (12. 3 ppg)

Why bet on the New York Jets?

The Jets are semi-desperate and playing at home. New York looked absolutely awful in its humbling 24-3 Week 3 loss against Kansas City as veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed an insane six interceptions. The Jets committed eight turnovers in all as Fitzpatrick completed a discouraging 20-of-44 passes for 188 yards. Veteran running back Matt Forte has been a big pickup for the Jets this season, but he was limited to 65 yards on 15 carries. For the season, Fitzpatrick has thrown for 751 yards with three touchdowns and seven interceptions. Forte leads the rushing attack with 261 yards and three scores on 67 carries. Veteran wide receiver Eric Decker has caught tem-high nine passes for 194 yards and two scores.  Unfortunately, the Jets are giving up more points (26.0 ppg) than they average (20.6 ppg) this season.

My Expert Prediction and Pick

After seeing Ryan Fitzpatrick throw an insane six interceptions in last week’s loss against the Chiefs, I’m going with the Seahawks to get the outright road win seeing as how Seattle’s defense has yet to give up more than 18 points this season. I know Jets have gone 5-0- 1 ATS in their L/6 games versus a team with a winning record and 3-1- 1 ATS in their last five games in the month of October, but right now, I just don’t see the Jets getting past a Seattle team that knows how to win anywhere and has won six of its last eight road games. My Pick: Seattle 27 NY Jets 20
