He’s Got an ‘S’ on His Chest!
Hell, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton can pretty much run faster than a locomotive and leap tall building in a single bound. Newton looked a lot like DC’s fictional Superman this season in doing it all for the Panthers. The former Auburn superstar finished tied for second in touchdown passes (35) and eighth in quarterback rating (99.4) while leading all quarterbacks in rushing yards (636), rushing touchdowns (10) and percentage of runs for first downs (42.4 %). Make no mistake about it, Newton is as close to ‘Superman’ as it gets in today’s NFL – and that could be enough to lift Carolina to the Super Bowl title.I Shut ‘Em Down!
Like Public’s legendary Chuck D., Panthers Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman has made a habit out of shutting down opposing wide receivers all season long. Norman was one of just eight players with multiple defensive touchdowns this season and racked up three forced fumbles to tie for the most among defensive backs. Norman’s 19 interceptions/passes defended are tied for fourth-most in the NFL and opposing quarterbacks had a pitiful passer rating of just 54.0 when going up against Norman, which was the lowest among all cornerbacks
