The Reasoning Behind Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers
On only the 20th of December, when the Steelers went up against the Broncos, they were favored by 7 points. Now, three weeks later, in a span where the Steelers have not lost a game, they’re suddenly 6.5 point underdogs? This can be hard to comprehend as nothing major has happened, aside from home field being transferred to the Broncos. Pittsburgh is one of the deadliest teams in the NFL, and just as long as their key players come through and are able to play, they are a top championship contender and have a realistic shot to beat the Broncos.

To win the Super Bowl the Steelers would have to beat the Broncos at home, and then enter a matchup with either Kansas City or New England on the road. Hypothetically say they beat the Broncos – it’s likely that their injured players will feel slightly better after another week to heal their minor injuries. After two weeks of rest for the Super Bowl, they’d finally be at full strength, and would unleash their full potential in the Super Bowl. At +800 odds it’s a shot in the dark, but if you’re looking for a dark horse team to bet on, the Steelers are just about your best bet. Roethlisberger and Tomlin have the experience – all they need is a little bit of luck and they’ll have no problem against the struggling AFC.
