If you’re an NFL betting enthusiast that is already looking forward to the 2019 regular season, following Sunday’s dreadfully-dull Super Bowl 53 matchup between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams, then you should know that now is a great time to make an NFL futures odds wager on the potential winner of next season’s NFL championship showcase.

Whether you like one of the top favorites on the board, a middle-of-the-pack title hopeful or an unabashed longshot to upset the entire apple cart, the insightful analysis that you’re about to get on next season’s possible Super Bowl winner could help you cash in with a potentially winning wager long before the 2019 regular season gets underway.

Early Super Bowl 54 Odds & Predictions

The Favorites to Win Super Bowl 54

  • New England Patriots 6/1
  • Kansas City Chiefs 7/1
  • Los Angeles Rams 8/1
  • New Orleans Saints 10/1

Analysis: While Tom Brady and the Super Bowl-winning Patriots (11-5) are listed as the prohibitive favorites here, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs (12-4) are now being listed as 6/1 prohibitive favorites at most sportsbooks with the Pats being a 7/1 pick to repeat.

Unless you’ve been living on another planet, then you know the Chiefs are brimming with talent, starting with the strong-armed Mahomes, who won this season’s MVP in his first season as a full-time starter. I’m expecting New England to challenge again in 2019, but right now, I’m going to say the Pats fail to repeat next season if only because of the difficulties involved with trying to repeat.

For me, I don’t have nearly as much faith in the Rams (13-3), mostly because I’m not real fond of quarterback Jared Goff, who looked like a deer in headlights for the entirety of Super Bowl 53. Last but not least, I’m going to say that Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints (13-3) should have a great chance to win it all next season after getting absolutely robbed out of reaching Super Bowl 53.

Top Title Contenders for Super Bowl 54

  • Chicago Bears 14/1
  • Indianapolis Colts 16/1
  • Los Angeles Chargers 16/1
  • Minnesota Vikings 16/1
  • San Francisco 49ers 16/1
  • Green Bay Packers 20/1

Analysis: After going a stellar 12-4 to win the NFC North, the Chicago Bears and Coach of the Year Matt Nagy have the look of a team that is going to be a force to reckoned with in years to come. The Indianapolis Colts look like a great middle-of-the-pack upset contender next season simply because quarterback Andrew Luck is clearly back among the top handful of quarterbacks in the entire league.

I’m sorry, but I’ve just about exhausted all hopes of Philip Rivers and the perennially-disappointing Chargers ever getting it done – and oh yeah, Minnesota made a big mistake by going all in on the clearly good, but not great, Kirk Cousins.

I have no idea why San Francisco (4-12) and Green Bay (6-9-1) have better odds than playoff teams in Philly, Dallas (10-6), Houston (11-5), Baltimore (10-6) and Seattle (10-6), but I’m not buying on either team – even if Green Bay does have the incomparable Aaron Rodgers on their side.

Best Value On the Board for Super Bowl 54?

Philadelphia Eagles

  • Super Bowl 54 Odds: 20/1

One season after winning Super Bowl 52, Philadelphia (9-7) made another run late in the regular season to reach the postseason and now, I believe they’ll be one of the hungriest teams in the league in 2019. Lest anyone forget, the last time Carson Wentz was completely healthy, he played like an MVP-caliber signal-caller. Philly is still loaded with a bunch of talent – and the knowledge of what it takes to win it all – even if they almost assuredly won;t have veteran quarterback Nick Foles leading them in the postseason in the future.

Seattle Seahawks

  • Super Bowl 54 Odds: 40/1

I have absolutely no idea why Seattle is an insane 40/1 pick to win it all next season, but after watching Russell Wilson and company go 10-6 this season to reach the playoffs while ranking an encouraging eighth in scoring and 11th in points allowed, I’m expecting the Seahawks to really challenge in 2019. At a value-packed 40/1, Seattle is a must-bet team to me heading into next season, particularly seeing as how they have one of the game’s best quarterbacks and head coaches in Wilson and Pete Carroll respectively.

 The Rest Of the Field

  • Cleveland Browns 22/1
  • Pittsburgh Steelers 22/1
  • Dallas Cowboys 25/1
  • Houston Texans 25/1
  • Atlanta Falcons 28/1
  • Baltimore Ravens 33/1
  • Carolina Panthers 33/1
  • Jacksonville Jaguars 33/1
  • New York Giants 40/1
  • Tennessee Titans 50/1
  • Arizona Cardinals 66/1
  • Buffalo Bills 66/1
  • Cincinnati Bengals 66/1
  • Denver Broncos 66/1
  • Detroit Lions 66/1
  • New York Jets 66/1
  • Oakland Raiders 66/1
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers 66/1
  • Washington Redskins 66/1
  • Miami Dolphins 66/1
