Top Underlay Odds Favorite: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +850
Tom Brady, no doubt, will improve Tampa Bay’s offense. Supposedly, Brady has been slinging darts to Mike Evans and tight-end Rob Gronkowski.
But Terrific Tom doesn’t play defense. Tampa’s defense makes us wary of taking such low odds on the Buccaneers.
The Tampa D allowed 73.8 rushing yards per game last season. That ranked first in the league. It allowed 270.1 passing yards per, though. That ranked thirtieth in the NFL. Teams threw like crazy against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The quarterback change helps. It won’t help that much because Drew Brees in New Orleans and Matt Ryan in the ATL will light up the secondary like a Christmas tree. The Bucs also face the Raiders, Chiefs, Vikings, Rams, and Packers.
All of those teams have good to great quarterbacks.
Top Overlay Odds Favorite: Seattle Seahawks +1750
Russell Wilson is one of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL. That alone makes Seattle an overlay at +1750. Another reason to like the Hawks?
They won the Jamal Adams sweepstakes. Adams is one of the best strong safeties in the league. If Jamal makes the defense just slightly better from last season, the Seahawks can win the NFC.
2021 Super Bowl Odds Dark Horses
- Pittsburgh Steelers +2200
- Green Bay Packers +2500
- Philadelphia Eagles +2000
- Cleveland Browns +3000
- Minnesota Vikings +2800
- Indianapolis Colts +2000
- Tennessee Titans +3000
- Atlanta Falcons +3300
- Buffalo Bills +2200
Top Underlay Odds Dark Horse: Green Bay Packers +2500
What are the Packers doing? Jordan Love could turn into a very good NFL quarterback. Right now, though, he’s going to sit on the bench behind Aaron Rodgers.
Drafting Love in the first round angered AR. But, it didn’t anger Rodgers the way so many believe. It’s not that Rodgers believes Love will replace him this season.
It’s because Aaron thinks the Packers wasted their first round pick. Rodgers believes the Packers can win the Super Bowl this season.
Linebackers Jordyn Brooks and Patrick McQueen went to Seattle and Baltimore right after the Pack chose Love.
San Francisco running back Raheem Mostert rushed for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Packers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. So, Aaron Rodgers is thinking, why not draft a linebacker to help against the rush?
It’s hard not to think like Aaron.
Top Overlay Odds Dark Horse: Tennessee Titans +3000It’s so strange why the Titans are cold on the board. Kansas City didn’t blow out Tennessee in last season’s AFC Championship.
Also, the schedule doesn’t look daunting. Before their Week 7 bye, the Titans could go undefeated. Their two road games are at Denver in Week 1, which they should win, and at Minnesota in Week 3, a winnable game.
After their bye, only at Baltimore in Week 11 and at Indianapolis in Week 12 are games they should lose. Tennessee dropped the Ravens 28-12 in the playoffs last season. So, the Titans could win that game.
The Titans won’t go undefeated. But they could finish 13-3 or 12-4. Those are great odds on the second or first seed in the AFC Playoffs.
