Updated Super Bowl LV Contenders & Pretenders Analysis
2021 Super Bowl LV
- When: Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021
- Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL
2021 Super Bowl LV Contenders | Odds |
---|---|
Kansas City Chiefs | +170 |
New Orleans Saints | +800 |
Green Bay Packers | +550 |
Seattle Seahawks | +1400 |
Buffalo Bills | +1100 |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | +1400 |
Baltimore Ravens | +1400 |
In Week 15, the Kansas City Chiefs held off the New Orleans Saints for an interesting 32-29 victory. We write interesting because Kansas City, again, didn’t cover the spread. Although the line dipped to under 3 right before kickoff, most got it at KC -3, which means the defending champs pushed on Sunday.
Still, it’s difficult to argue with the odds. The Chiefs beat the team that many believe is the best in the NFC. Unless a squad like Buffalo challenges KC in the playoffs, we could be dreaming about the +170 odds once the playoffs start.
As for the Bills, they’ve become the second best team in the NFL. Buffalo is on a 4-game winning streak. They’ve covered in 6 straight. If not for a last second Hail Mary pass against Arizona, the Bills could be on an 8 game winning streak.
KC beat Buffalo earlier in the season. This Bills squad is much better than that one. If the Packers are a +550 shot, Buffalo is . . . what? A +800 shot like New Orleans? The +1100 odds don’t give the Bills enough credit.
Top Super Bowl LV Pretenders | Odds |
---|---|
Pittsburgh Steelers | +2000 |
L.A. Rams | +1600 |
Arizona Cardinals | +5000 |
At one point, the Steelers offered +500 odds to win the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh was undefeated and looked like the best team in the league, even better than the Chiefs.
The wheels have fallen off. For the third straight week, the Steelers lost. This time, Pittsburgh dropped a game to a Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals team. That’s how bad things are in Steel Town.
Can Pittsburgh turn it around? We’re going to find out this Sunday. The Steelers take on the Indianapolis Colts in one of Week 16’s top contests. If Pittsburgh can end the losing streak, Steeler Nation can breathe a sigh of relief.
Top Super Bowl LV Longshot Contender | Odds |
---|---|
Tennessee Titans | +2000 |
Indianapolis Colts | +2500 |
Cleveland Browns | +2800 |
The Titans boast one of the most balanced, high-scoring, offenses in the NFL. If Tennessee’s defense can just contain opponents in the playoffs, Tennessee is a legit contender.
The Colts have a great defense and a veteran quarterback. They were a pretender last week. This week, they’re a longshot contender. That shows us how much can change in the NFL after a single game.
Cleveland may offer overlay odds. The Browns are 10-4 and a game behind Pittsburgh in the AFC North. The Browns average 152.6 rushing yards per. That will give them a shot in the playoffs.
