Analysis: After opening with a pair of losses sin their first two games, I’m fully expecting Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers to roll all over a Los Angeles Rams team they re very comparable against as far as both teams’ rebuilding plans are concerned. The Buccaneers have lost four straight against the Rams while failing to cover the spread in each of the last five meetings, but Jameis Winston will be the best quarterback on the field and first-year head coach Dirk Koetter will likely be at least as proficient as L.A. counterpart Jeff Fisher. Tampa Bay at Carolina Panthers (-10)

Analysis: I know the Buccaneers have lost six straight games against Carolina and that they’ve posted a pitiful 1-5 ATS mark during the stretch, but I like the Bucs to cover the spread by keeping the final score closer than expected. The Buccaneers and Panthers have alternated ATS wins and losses over the last seven meetings, meaning the Bucs will undoubtedly have a chance even if doesn’t necessarily look that way on paper! Week 9

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay (-1.5)

Analysis: For some strange reason, the Buccaneers give the Atlanta Falcons hell whenever they meet and I suspect this Week 9 will be no different. Tampa Bay won both regular season meetings against Atlanta last season and should be able to hold it down at home in this meaningful Week 9 divisional date. The Pick: Tampa Bay 24 Atlanta 21

Week 10

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay (-2)

Analysis: The Bucs will have the better quarterback, but Chicago has the edge in coaching with John Fox on their sideline. Still, after losing to the Bears 26-21 as a 3-point home favorite last season, I’m expecting the Buccaneers to bring their collective ‘A’ games in this Week 10 NFC battle. My final NFL futures bet prediction says the Buccaneers will win and cover the chalk as a slight 2-point home favorite. The Pick: Tampa Bay 27 Chicago 24
