We’re entering the stretch run of the NFL season where every game is crucial. Teams are making their final push for a playoff spot, and a loss could end any hope of making the playoff field. As of now, just two teams are out of playoff contention, so that means that we have 30 teams that have hopes of a postseason berth. Let’s take a look at some games this weekend where we think that if you drop a few bucks, a reward will be awaiting you. That said, let’s jump right into action so you can make your bets against their NFL odds.
Top NFL Games to Bet On this weekend
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Minnesota Vikings (-9.5)
The 1-10 Jaguars come to Minnesota to take on the surging Vikings. Losers of 10 in a row, Jacksonville has hit rock bottom. They just fired their GM, Doug Marrone is on a very hot seat, and they’ve had to turn to Mike Glennon as their starting quarterback. Jacksonville’s defense has been woeful, as teams are feasting on them. The lone bright spot for the Jaguars this season has been the play of running back James Robinson.
As for the Vikings, they’ve started to put things together after a rough start. Kirk Cousins has looked like the man that they signed to an $84 million contract as of late, and if Dalvin Cook could ever avoid injuries, he would be a legitimate MVP candidate. Even with the injuries, Cook has been a stud this season. Justin Jefferson is quickly becoming one of the top receivers in the league. Minnesota’s defense got off to a slow start, but they’ve been playing better as of late, and are a big reason that the Vikings have gotten back into playoff contention.
We know that 9.5 points is a lot, especially in an NFL game, but Minnesota is playing for it’s playoff life, and the Jaguars are playing for a better draft position. Mike Glennon isn’t the answer at quarterback, and the defense can’t stop anyone. We’re going with Minnesota to win by 10 and cover.
Las Vegas Raiders @ New York Jets (+7.5)
What can we say about the Jets, that hasn’t already been said? They’re horrible! The winless squad from New York may have the worst head coach in NFL history, and at times, it looks like they’re trying to lose. They’ve turned the once promising Sam Darnold into a quarterback that looks scared to be out there. They’ve traded away many of their top players, and it’s obvious that management wants the #1 pick in the draft.
As for the Raiders, at times they’ve looked like a playoff contender, while at other times they’ve looked like a team that is also looking for a better draft pick. They’re coming off of a 43-6 drubbing by the Atlanta Falcons. The week before, they took the Chiefs down to the wire, in a tough loss. We’re just never sure what Raider team we’re going to see.
When Derek Carr is on top of his game, the Raiders have one of the best offenses in the league. They have a strong rushing game, and they have a group of quality receivers that can make plays. Their defense is suspect, but at times have played like a playoff defense.
The Raiders are 6-2 ATS in road games. The Jets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against AFC teams. The Raiders will come back and play well this week after last week’s embarrassment against the Falcons. The Raiders beat the Jets by at least 10.
