Top Betting Predictions For NFL Week 17

Written by on December 28, 2016

Will Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers put up a fight in their season-ending divisional matchup against Kansas City or will they go whimpering into the offseason? How much playing time will Tom Brady see as the New England Patriots try to secure home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs in their own divisional matchup against Miami? Let’s find out the answers to both questions and much more as I offer up a handful of Week 17 top betting predictions.

Top Betting Predictions For NFL Week 17

Kansas City at San Diego

When: Sunday, January 1 at 4:25 PM ET Where: Qualcomm Stadium Odds: Kansas City -5.5 Analysis: I’m predicting that impressive Chiefs will lay an emphatic smackdown on Philip Rivers and the listless Chargers as they try to win the AFC West over Oakland. San Diego has quit after losing an astounding amount of heartbreaking last-second matchups earlier this season. The Bolts have lost four straight and have a bevy of problems from the front office to the playing field. Kansas City has the motivation and team and I’m predicting the Chiefs to lay an emphatic spanking on the Bolts! Pick: Kansas City -5.5 Points

New England at Miami

When: Sunday, January 1 at 1:00 PM ET Where: Hard Rock Stadium NFL Odds: New England -9.5 Analysis: I know the New England Patriots want to secure home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, but I suspect that getting Tom Brady out of this contest unscathed is far more important. Miami has motivation – and a nasty defense that will make Bill Belichick think twice about leaving Brady in too long. I’m predicting the Fins cover with the eight points! Pick: Miami +8 Points

Seattle at San Francisco

When: Sunday, January 1 at 4:25 PM ET Where: Levi’s Stadium NFL Odds: Seattle -9.5 Analysis: If Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks don’t have this contest in hand by the time halftime rolls around, I’ll be stunned. Colin Kaepernick and the lowly San Francisco 49ers may have recorded a thrilling win last weekend, but keep in mind it came against the equally atrocious Rams. Seattle is playing for a shot at a first round bye and that will be enough to motivate them to put Frisco away early, mush like they did in beating the Niners 38-17 early this season. I’m predicting an easy win and cover for Seattle. Pick: Seattle 31 San Francisco 17

Dallas at Philadelphia

When: Sunday, January 1 at 1:00 PM ET Where: Lincoln Financial Field Total: 43.5 Analysis: The Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have played over 43.5 total points in each of the last two meetings and four of the last six meetings overall and I believe they’ll do so again, even if both teams turn to their respective backup quarterbacks at some point. The over is 4-1 in Philly’s last five games and I’m predicting it will go over again. Pick: Over 43.5 Total Points

NY Giants +8 at Washington

When: Sunday, January 1 at 4:25 PM ET Where: FedEx Field NFL Odds: Washington -8 Analysis: Kirk Cousins and the Redskins may be desperate to beat their longtime NFC East division rivals, but New York’s hellacious defense, combined with the fact that they hate the Redskins and surely want to play well before the start of the playoffs, leads me to believe the G-Men will cover the spread with room to spare. New York has gone 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games and I’m predicting the G-Men will cover again. Pick: New York +8 Points
