Why Bet On Minnesota?
The Vikings might get back starting QB Sam Bradford. Bradford, who suffered a noncontact injury to his left knee during a Week 1 win over the New Orleans Saints, had last practiced on Sept. 21 before seeking a second opinion from orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews. But he was there in limited fashion on Thursday. Coach Mike Zimmer would not name a starter for Monday’s game but said Bradford will play if he’s feeling better. If not, it will be journeyman Case Keenum again. He played well in the team’s lone win under him but not in the two losses. The Vikings suffered a big injury in last week’s loss to Detroit as rookie running back Dalvin Cook tore his ACL and is done for the season. Cook had amassed 354 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and he was averaging 4.8 yards per carry. He also had 90 receiving yards on 11 receptions. Zimmer called the fast, shifty running back’s big-play ability “unbelievable.” Cook was by far the most versatile threat Minnesota had. Cook’s production will be a challenge to replace, but there are several on the roster who will be up for the challenge. Latavius Murray will see the biggest change in role as he steps into the primary running back role. Murray was thought to be the guy who would replace Adrian Peterson, but ankle surgery in the offseason set him back and allowed Cook to win the starting job. Jerick McKinnon also will be more involved. Minnesota’s defense is one of the NFL’s best. It has allowed just 11 third-down conversion in 43 attempts. Minnesota ranks first in the NFL with a 25.6 third-down percentage. Chicago’s defense is 30th at 47.1 percent (allowed 24 conversions of 51 third downs).Team Statistics

Why Bet On Chicago?
Because the Bears have benched turnover-prone QB for No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky. He will be the third rookie quarterback selected in the first round to make his first career start on Monday Night Football, joining Detroit’s Chuck Long (December 15, 1986 vs. Chicago) and Philadelphia’s John Reaves (October 2, 1972 vs. New York Giants). The last rookie to debut on MNF as a starter was Colin Kaepernick in 2012. He had a big game in a win over the Bears, but Kaepernick was a second-round pick. Trubisky will be Chicago’s first rookie quarterback to start a game since Kyle Orton in 2005. Since 2015, four quarterbacks taken in the top 2 started as rookies. They went a combined 16-35 with an average QBR of 46.6. Rookie quarterbacks under John Fox have a combined 3-11 record. Jimmy Clausen was the last rookie to start for Fox in 2010.
Minnesota’s run defense in 2017 has been fantastic, holding opponents to 71.3 yards per game (fourth in the NFL) and also ranking third in the NFL in allowing only 3.0 yards per attempt. That unit will be tested this week, though, and it’ll be tested by a running back who had success versus Minnesota last season. Jordan Howard torched the Vikings for 288 rushing yards on 49 attempts (5.9 yards/att.), adding a rushing touchdown and 49 yards receiving on four catches. Howard already has four rushing touchdowns this season, and is averaging a healthy 4.0 yards per carry. The Bears have added another threat to the backfield in rookie Tarik Cohen, who is averaging 6.0 yards per carry and also leads all running backs in catches this season with 24.
Chicago will be without starting linebacker Danny Trevathan. He was suspended a game for a frightening hit last Thursday night that sent Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams to the hospital.
