Redskins are Slight NFL Betting Favorites in Week 17 vs. Giants

Washington Redskins Season Winning Predictions

Written by on August 30, 2016

The Washington Redskins won nine games and the NFC East division title in 2015 to reach the postseason for the first time since Honest Abe Lincoln was in office. Seriously though, with the Skins coming off a fine season and looking for bigger and better things moving forward, let’s find out if Kirk Cousins and the Skins can duplicate or improve on their fantastic campaign betting odds from a year ago.

Can Cousins Led Washington Redskins to New Heights in 2016?

2016 Regular Season Win Total Odds

Over/Under 7.5 Wins Analysis: I personally think Washington Commanders was the beneficiary of a watered down NFC East in 2015 and that they’re going to face a much tougher way to go in 2016. The Redskins lose home dates against Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Green Bay and Carolina and road dates against the Giants, Ravens, Lions, Bengals, Cowboys, Cardinals and Eagles to finish at 5-11 or 6-10 at best. I don’t think the Skins have regressed, but they have a murderer’s row of a schedule in 2016.

NFC East Division Odds

+350 Analysis: While I think it’s possible that all four NFC East teams could rise up to win the mediocre division in 2016, my pick for the division title is Dallas. Believe it or not, all four NFC East teams could very well go 1-1 against their three division rivals this coming season. Unfortunately, I think Washington has the toughest non-division schedule of any NFC East team. At a value-packed +350, the Skins are certainly worth a wager, but I think they’re going to eat some humble pie in 2016.

NFC Championship Odds

+2000 Analysis: Even if every single thing goes right for Washington this coming season, the Skins would have to have about a half-dozen miracles take place for them to beat out their superior NFC conference rivals. Save your money on Washington’s conference championship odds.

Super Bowl 51 Odds

+4500 Analysis: Unless Doug Williams, John Riggins, the Hogs and the Smurfs turn back the hands of time to suit up for their beloved Redskins in 2016, there’s no way in hell that Mr. ‘You Like That’ leads Washington to a win in Super Bowl 51!
