Week 11 NFL Expert Picks: Baltimore At Dallas

Written by on November 18, 2016

Prior to the start of the 2016 NFL football season, the betting odds favored a few teams that were not particularly surprising. The Dallas Cowboys sat in a group in the middle of the pack, but there has been a bit of a seismic shift in the odds, thanks in large part to the Cowboys suddenly looking like the best team in the league. The biggest surprise with this chance is the fact that Dallas is getting the job done with rookies at the QB and RB positions, with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott leading the way. Tony Romo is once again fit and ready to play, but he came out earlier this week and admitted that this is now Prescott’s team, and that he will do all that he can to help the young man succeed. That Dallas offense is going to be sorely tested this weekend against a Baltimore defense that is one of the best in the league. It looks as though it’s going to be a great match-up, and the bookies have Dallas as the 7-point home favorite.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 11 NFL Expert Picks: Ravens At Cowboys

Why bet on the Baltimore Ravens

As I mentioned earlier, the Baltimore defense has been playing out of its skin this season, and it’s a major reason why this team has the lead in the AFC North. They have been particularly stout against the run, giving up just 3.3 yards per carry, but they may not have faced an offensive line and running back combination as good as the one that Dallas is bringing to the table. The Baltimore Ravens are a respectable 2-2 on the road this season, but they are 0-2 against non-conference foes. They are very similar in regards the point spread, going 4-4 ATS on the season, but 0-2 ATS versus non-conference teams, both of whom just also happened to come from the NFC East.

Why bet on the Dallas Cowboys

It looked as though the Cowboys might be in for a long season after losing Romo for an extended period before it even began. They dropped their opening game, but have looked untouchable since, rolling off 8-straight wins, and suddenly looking like the team to beat in the NFL. For the most part, the Cowboys have been totally dominant during this run, and last week in Pittsburgh is the closes they have come to losing since Week 1. While the offense has been getting all the press, the defense has been doing its part, and had held opponents to under 100 yards on the ground in their last 5 games. Dallas is 8-1 ATS this season, including a 3-0 ATS record versus AFC North opposition.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t care how good this Baltimore Ravens defense is, I just don’t see them being able to handle the Dallas offensive line. This is a game that I believe Dallas will win by double digits in the end.
