Week 11 NFL Lock Picks (Nov. 20th)

Written by on November 16, 2016

Can No.1 overall draft pick Jared Goff overcome the streaking Miami Dolphins in his NFL debut? Will the reeling Pittsburgh Steelers snap out of the month-long funk they’ve been mired in? If you’re looking for some Week 11 locks, let’s find out about both Week 11 affairs right now.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 11 NFL Lock Picks (Nov. 20th)

Miami at L.A. Rams

When: 4:05 PM ET, Sunday, November 20, 2016
Where: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California
TV: FOX
Odds: L.A. Rams -1

Analysis:
Los Angeles Rams (4-5 SU, 4-4-1 ATS) No. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff will make his NFL debut in his team’s Week 11 matchup against the streaking Miami Dolphins (5-4 SU, 5-4 ATS) but that may not be such a good thing seeing as how the Dolphins are playing lately.

Miami has won four straight games and has not allowed more than 25 points in any game during the stretch while simultaneously scoring 27 points or more in every contest. The Dolphins are both, getting after opposing quarterbacks while getting some outstanding play from their offensive line and rushing attack.

Miami has found out they have a star in running back Jay Ajayi and are now getting competent play out of veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill. On the flip side of the coin, while the Rams got a hard-fought 9-6 win over the dysfunctional Jets this past weekend, Jeff Fisher’s squad has been held to 10 points or less in three straight games – and that just won’t cut it against the suddenly competitive Dolphins

After watching mostly mediocre veteran Case Keenum lead them to a fairly respectable 4-5 record, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is now prepared to play his prized rookie, though how he will perform is anyone’s guess right now. “I think it’s time” Goff told reporters this week. “I’m ready to move forward and play. I’m just going to work hard and hopefully win.”

While the Rams are kicking off  new era they hope will take them places they haven’t gone since Kurt Warner suited up for them, I’m thinking the Goff era will get off to a rocky start as Miami’s stout defensive line, led by Ndamukong Suh, harasses the rookie signal-caller into a couple of costly turnovers.

The Dolphins are 4-1 TS in their last five games and an identical 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings against the Rams. Conversely, the Rams are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games and 1-9 SU in their last 10 meetings against Miami. Back the streaking Dolphins to stay hot by winning outright!

Pick: Miami +1 Point

Pittsburgh at Cleveland

When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, November 20, 2016v Where: FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio
TV: CBS
Odds: Pittsburgh -9

Analysis:
The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost four straight games while getting held to 16 points or less in three of those affairs. While Ben Roethlisberger and company put 30 points on the board this past weekend, the Steelers still ended up losing to Dallas as rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott helped the ‘Boys blossoming offense put 35 points on the board.

Despite their recent woes, the Steelers still have one of the most dangerous trios in the league in Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell and saw their future Hall of Fame signal-caller pass for 408 yards and three touchdowns against Dallas and that just doesn’t bode well for the Browns.

Cleveland was on the wrong end of a humbling 28-7 loss against division rival Baltimore last weekend as quarterbacks Cody Kessler and Josh McCown combined to pass for 150 yards with one touchdown but two costly interceptions. Making matters worse is the fact that the Browns have burned through a whopping six quarterbacks this season and have no real leader on offense or very many playmakers outside of wide receiver Terrelle Pryor and running back Isaiah Crowell.

Pittsburgh has won two straight over Cleveland and five of the last six meetings overall while going 4-2 ATS along the way. The Browns have given up at least 28 points in each of their last five games, making Pittsburgh my ‘lock’ pick to win by double digits and easily cover the NL betting line!

Pick: Pittsburgh -9.5 Points
