NFL Week 13 SU Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on December 1, 2020

By the time Tuesday rolls around, we are usually done with the previous week and looking ahead at the games to come. Things are a little different this week, as we still have one more game to come from the Week 12 schedule. The Steelers/Ravens game, which has been disrupted by a COVID outbreak in the Ravens camp, has been moved around more than an army brat, but it will eventually take place on Wednesday afternoon. Even with that one still to come, we are able to look ahead to Week 13 of the season and the games that are on the schedule, at least for now. I’m not sure I will be touching the Steelers or the Ravens, especially since both will be on a short week. There are still plenty of other games to choose from, though, so let’s get right to it and then you can place your bets against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting | Straight-Up Picks for Week 13 of the 2020 Season

Indianapolis Colts over Houston Texans

The Indianapolis Colts saw their chances of winning the AFC South take a serious hit last week with a loss to the Tennessee Titans, who are now in control of their own destiny. It will be anther divisional game this weekend for the Colts against a Houston Texans team that they have had great success over in recent meetings, winning 5 of the last 7. While the Colts still look like a good bet to make the postseason, this is very much a must win game if they still have hopes of taking the South. The Texans are sure to still be buzzing after a blowout win over the Detroit Lions last week, but this is a much tougher proposition. I am on the Colts to come away with the win.

Chicago Bears over Detroit Lions

The writing has been on the wall for a while now, but the Detroit Lions front office finally decided that it was time to bring the Matt Patricia era to an end. With the coach and GM gone, the Lions players are now playing for spots next season, but the feeling is that we will see a bit f a clearance sale once the new coach and GM arrives. There are also problems in Chicago, with the Bears now losing 5 in a row and seeing their playoff hopes go right out the window. These are a pair of teams who need some serious repairs, but one of them is going to come up with the win this weekend. Detroit has lost 5 in a row against the Chicago Bears, so you have to think that they will struggle in this one.

New Orleans Saints over Atlanta Falcons

Given how things have gone for these two teams this season, this would seem to be a rather straightforward pick. We do, though, need to remember that the Saints will once again be starting Taysom Hill at QB ahead of the injured Drew Brees, which has the bookies seeing this one as a bit closer than you might imagine. In fairness to Hill, he has gone 2-0 as a starter this season, which included leading the Saints to a 24-9 win over the Falcons a couple of weeks ago. He was not asked to do that much last weekend in a win over the Broncos, who did not have a QB ready to play due to COVID. The Saints have won 8 in a row and look to be too much for Atlanta, even without Brees.
