Week 14 NFL Lock Picks

Written by on December 6, 2016

I have never been one to go with the lock type picks in the NFL simply because the parity in the league means that you can often be left looking like a fool. That said, I always look at the upcoming schedule and see a few games that look like absolute bankers. It’s impossible not to do that, especially at this stage of the season when we have a very good idea of what teams are about, and how they perform at home and on the road. With all of that said, I am going to give you guys what I believe to be the NFL lock picks of the week, and hopefully I will not have egg on my face by the time Week 14 comes to an end.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 14 NFL Lock Picks

Cincinnati Bengals over the Cleveland Browns

It’s fair to say that every football fan outside of Cleveland is rooting for the Browns to deliver an 0-16 season. There is just something a little magical about that level of ineptitude, and if anyone can do it, the Browns can. They have an AFC North clash this week with the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that has been horribly disappointing all season long. As bad as the Bengals have been, I see them as double digit winners in this one.

Pittsburgh Steelers over the Buffalo Bills

After a 4-game losing skid that put their season in jeopardy, the Steelers have resumed normal service, and have reeled off 3-straight wins. Perhaps the biggest surprise in that run is that their young defense has shut things down in a big way, giving up just 30 points in those games. The offense is as efficient as ever, and they should be too much for the Bills to handle.

Atlanta Falcons over the LA Rams

The Falcons are in possession of the best offense in the league, yet are struggling to maintain a lead in the awful NFC South. This is because their defense has been unable to hold up their end of the bargain, but that really shouldn’t come into play against a Rams team that has had trouble moving the ball all season long. The Rams tend to keep things tight, but I think they are going to have a tough time slowing down that Falcons powerhouse offense.

Detroit Lions over the Chicago Bears

You need to give credit to this Lions team for coming out this season and finding a way to win without Calvin Johnson. The feeling was that Detroit would struggle offensively without the retired Megatron, but that has not been the case at all. The Lions are on a 4-game winning streak, and are getting the job done by playing a balanced brand of football. I think they tighten their grip on the NFC North with a very comfortable win over the Chicago Bears. Those are my 4 lock picks for the week, and if they come good, I might just come back next week and try again.
