Week 15 NFL Over/Under Picks And Matchups

Written by on December 14, 2016

With the end of the 2016 NFL regular season quickly approaching, a pair of Week 15 matchups look like very attractive Over/Under total selections.

Now, let’s find out which matchups they are.

In Depth Analysis On The Week 15 NFL Over/Under Picks And Matchups

Detroit at NY Giants

Sunday, December 18 at 1:00 PM ET
Over/Under 41.5

Analysis:
The New York Giants (9-4 SU, 3-10 O/U) are ranked 25th in scoring at a modest 19.6 points per game and are seventh in points allowed defensively (18.8 ppg). The Lions (9-4 SU, 4-9 O/U) are ranked a modest 17th in scoring at 22.7 points per contest and a surprising 10th in points allowed at 20.6 points per game.

For me, this Week 15 NFC showdown is a near-lock to play Under the 41.5-point Over/Under Total. Detroit has gone Under the O/U Total in a whopping seven straight games while New York has played Under the total in five straight and six of their last seven games overall.

The Under is 4-0 in Detroit’s last four road games against a team with a winning home record and a consistent 18-6 in their last 24 road games. The Under is also 4-1 in the Giants’ last five home games against a team with a winning road record. With New York scoring 14 points or less in two straight and Detroit getting limited to 20 points or less in two of their last three games, I say go with the 45 percent of the betting public that likes the Under.

Pick: Under 41.5 Total Points

Oakland at San Diego

Sunday, December 18 at 4:25 PM ET
Over/Under 50

Analysis:
The Oakland Raiders (10-3 SU, 10-3 O/U) and San Diego Chargers (5-8 SU, 8-4-1 O/U) have two of the most potent offenses – and equally mediocre defenses in the league this season. Having said that, it’s no wonder that a convincing 69 percent of the betting public likes the Over in this Week 15 AFC West divisional showdown.

Oakland has gone Over the total in six of their last seven games and eight of 10 overall. While San Diego has failed to top their O/U Total in three straight games, I am fully expecting a high-scoring affair as Derek Carr and Philip Rivers air it out early and often.

Oakland won a high-scoring affair 34-31 at home on Oct. 9 to play well Over that game’s 50.5-point O/U Total and I’m expecting a nearly identical outcome this time around as well. The Over is 12-3-2 in Oakland’s last 17 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1-1 in San Diego’s last six home games. Don’t think twice people…simply the Over 50 total points.

Pick: Over 50 Total Points
