Lions Are Big NFL Week 10 Betting Favorites Against Browns

Week 16 NFL Betting Odds: Detroit At Dallas

Written by on December 23, 2016

The final 2 weeks of the season look as though they are going to be pretty damn exciting, especially with so many playoff spots still waiting to be decided. One of the best races currently going on is in the NFC North, where the Detroit Lions have the lead, but are starting to feel the pressure from a surging Green Bay Packers team. Those two will meet next week in a game that will decide who wins the division, and potentially who misses the playoffs, but the Lions have another tough task ahead of them this coming Monday night. We already know that the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC is going through Arlington, but the Lions are heading there to face Dallas in a game that could well be a season decider for Detroit. A win would have them heading into next week’s game with the Packers on a high, but a loss would be their third straight, and would surely plant some seeds of doubt. The Cowboys are a 7.5-point betting odds favorite for this one.

Why bet on the Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have been a pleasant surprise this season, and have marched to a 9-5 record, thanks in large part to the stellar play of QB Matthew Stafford. This is not an offense that is designed to blow anyone away, but the efficiency of Stafford means that they keep the mistakes to a minimum. The Lions have left things late in games several times this season, and they are able to do that because they keep things so tight throughout. The last meeting between these two came in Dallas last year, and while the Lions lost that one, it was only by 4 points. Detroit are 5-3 ATS as the underdog this season.

Why bet on the Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have been fantastic this season, but there are still some people out there who doubt that they can make it all the way to a Super Bowl with a pair of rookies leading the attack. Prescott and Eliiott both struggled in a loss to The New York Giants a couple of weeks back, leading many Cowboys fans to start fearing that the sky was falling. It turned out to be a minor blip, as Dallas put in a solid performance last week to take out the surging Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys have been a solid bet this year ATS, but it should be noted that they have failed to cover in each of their last 3 games.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

You have to like the Cowboys playing at home, where they are 6-1 on the season. There may be the temptation to rest some guys as this game progresses, which may allow Detroit to pick up some garbage point late in the game.
