NFL Week 3 Cleveland Vs Miami Expert Predictions

Written by on September 23, 2016

The Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins have both looked mostly inept in dropping their first two games of the regular season. Still, someone’s gotta’ win when the two struggling teams square off in a battle of rebuilding teams whose postseason hopes have already taken a significant hit. Now, let’s find out where the value in this Week 3 matchup lies!

In Depth Analysis On The NFL Week 3 Browns Vs Dolphins Expert Predictions

When: Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM ET Where: Hard Rock Stadium TV: CBS Live Stream: CBS Sports Network NFL Odds: Miami Dolphins -10 / Over/Under: 41.5

Bet The Cleveland Browns at +10 Because…

The Cleveland Browns have the coaching edge! Cleveland fought hard but ended up on the wrong side of a 25-20 loss against Baltimore in Week 2 that saw starting quarterback Josh McCown go down with an injury and the Ravens roar back from a 20-point first half deficit. McCown completed 20 of 33 passes for 260 yards with two touchdowns, but also tossed two costly interceptions before getting injured. Now, rookie backup Cody Kessler will make his NFL debut when he takes the field against Miami. Defensively, Cleveland is allowing an overly generous 27 points and 392.5 yards per game.

Bet The Miami Dolphins at -10 Because…

The Dolphins are making their home debut! Miami should have plenty of motivation as they make their home debut after falling to 0-2 by getting embarrassed by New England in their 31-24 Week2 loss in a contest that wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicates. Underachieving quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 32 of 45 passes for 387 yards with two touchdowns, but also tossed two costly interceptions while the Fins were limited to a paltry 70 rushing yards. Defensively, Miami allowed Patriots backup Jimmy Garoppolo to throw three first half TD passes before departing with a shoulder injury. Making matters worse is the fact that the Dolphins are averaging a pitiful 67 rushing yards per contest. Miami is allowing 21.5 points and 408.5 yards per game.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

While I’m seriously disappointed in Miami to start the season, I do like the Dolphins to get the win and narrow cover as a 10-point home favorite, although I’m not real fond of the double-digit point spread. Not only will Cleveland have a first-time starter under center in Cody Kessler, but the Browns are also 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games overall. I know the Dolphins are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall, but the Browns are in a bad way right now and Miami is completely desperate. While Cleveland has gone 4-1-1 ATS in their last six meetings, I like the Fins to win and cash in at home.

My Pick: Miami 31 Cleveland 20
