NFL Week 6 Must Bet Games – 2018 Season

Written by on July 24, 2018

When it comes to Week 6 of the 2018 NFL regular season, there a handful of intriguing matchups that will take center stage as must-see matchups that no football fan or betting enthusiasts should miss out on viewing. However, if it’s betting value that you’re looking for, you need to look beyond the glitz and glamor of these must-see matchups.

I’ve taken the time to identify the top three matchups on the Week 6 schedule that are offering virtually ‘lock’ value in an effort to help you cash in early and often well before the start of the 2018 regular season gets underway. Now, let’s find out where that NFL odds value lies.

NFL Week 6 Must Bet Games – 2018 Season

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at New York Giants

If you don’t know by now, the New York Giants are undergoing some serious change after going 3-13 a year ago under the mostly clueless Ben McAdoo. The G-Men have a new head coach in NFL lifer Pat Shurmur and a player I think is going to be a genuine superstar in rookie running back Saquon Barkley, the second overall draft pick out of Penn State.

While the Giants enter 2018 looking to rebuild their franchise under aging signal-caller Eli Manning, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are looking to repeat as champs and look like they’re going to have a great chance to do just that. The Birds have a star in young quarterback Carson Wentz, a boatload of talent at all of their offensive skill positions, plus they made a series of wise moves in the draft and free agency. Despite being on the road, this is a game the Eagles should and will win by at least a touchdown to easily cover the chalk as a field goal road fave!

NFL Week 6 Betting Pick: Philadelphia -3

Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins (-1)

The Washington redskins weren’t completely awful in going 7-9 last season, even though it was their second consecutive year of missing the playoffs. Washington made a nice move in the offseason by adding veteran quarterback Alex Smith to replace Kirk Cousins after they decided not to resign their longtime signal-caller despite a few very productive seasons.

Are the Panthers a safe betting pick in NFL Week 6?

Still, Washington looks to be a cut below a Carolina Panthers team that won 11 games a year ago and one that enters 2018 with some legitimate hopes of doing so once again while contending for a deep playoff run. Carolina is the better team in all three phases of the game and head coach Ron Rivera is far better than Washington counterpart Jay Gruden in my opinion. Despite being on the road, this Week 6 matchup looks like a contest the Panther should win and win solidly by a touchdown. The Skins should be close to parting ways with Gruden and getting solidly manhandled in a contest like this one will show the Redskins front office brass exactly why!

NFL Week 6 Betting Pick: Carolina +1

Jacksonville Jaguars at Dallas Cowboys (-1)

The Dallas Cowboys weren’t bad at all in going 9-7 last season despite missing superstar running back Ezekiel Elliott for a half-dozen games as part of his league-imposed suspension for violating the personal conduct policy. Dallas ranked a decent 14th in scoring (22.1 ppg) and equally solid 13th in points allowed (20.8 ppg).

While the Boys will have Elliott back on the field all season long, I still don’t think they’re going to be as good as a Jacksonville Jaguars team that went 10-6 last season and reached the AFC Championship game where they gave the New England Patriots all they could handle before fading late. The Jags have a powerful defense that ranked a stellar fifth in scoring (26.1 ppg) and even more impressive second in points allowed (16.8 ppg).

I’m expecting Jacksonville to play their brand of ball control offense behind powerful running back Leonard Fournette and just enough passing from Blake Bortles to get the road win over a Cowboys team that looks mediocre at best on defense heading into 2018. The Jags are the better team on both sides of the ball. it’s that simple MYBookie NFL betting enthusiasts!
