NFL Week 8 Must Bet Games – 2018 Season

Written by on July 24, 2018

The pro-football regular season runs 17 weeks, with each team playing 16 games and getting a bye week. For many teams, NFL Week 8 will mark the midway point of their season, a point that can prove to be pivotal for many. It is at this stage of the season when teams start to become acutely aware of what needs to be done in the second half to become a Super Bowl LIII contender/favorite. There are a couple of divisions that are in danger of being lopsided this year, but there are more than a few that look as though they might well go down to the final week. We should have a much clearer idea of that when we hit Week 8 and see these potentially great games on the schedule.

NFL Week 8 Must Bet Games – 2018 Season

Forget the Odds…Who Can Really Win Super Bowl LIII in 2019?

Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs

It’s tough to know what to expect from these two teams this season, as both will be starting out with new QB’s at the helm. The Kansas City Chiefs have never won fewer than 9 games in the regular season during the tenure of Andy Reid, but their inability to turn that into playoff success eventually led them to move on from Alex Smith and put QB prospect Patrick Mahomes in as the starter. The Broncos have been great defensively for years but have struggled to replace Peyton Manning. They will turn to Case Keenum this season as they look to rebound from a 5-win season in 2017.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The Eagles come into the season as the defending Super Bowl Champs, and when you look at their schedule for this season, you get a clear idea of just how difficult their road back to the championship game is going to be. Were it not for an amazing play by Tom Brady in the AFC Conference Final, this may very well have been the Super Bowl match-up that we saw last season. The Jaguars are going to be coming out looking to go at least one better this season, and they are going to need their stellar defense to be at its best against the champs.

Indianapolis Colts vs Oakland Raiders

If you are any kind of football fan, you will almost certainly be hoping that 2018 is the year that Andrew Luck returns to the field in perfect health. The QB has been hammered by injuries over the last couple of seasons, and there are some legitimate fears that he will never be the same again after a brutal shoulder injury. Andrew Luck should be more than ready for NFL Week 8 against the Raiders. By Week 8, we should have a good idea of how he looks, and it’s going to be fun to see him go against a Raiders team looking for a bounce-back year under new head coach Jon Gruden.

Green Bay Packers vs LA Rams

This is arguably the game of the week here, as these are a pair of teams that have a legitimate shot at representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers will be hoping that they finally get an injury-free season, or as close to it as possible, as they have been decimated in the last two seasons. The Rams were an offensive juggernaut last season, but they came up short in the playoffs. They have made some big offseason moves and appear to be in Super Bowl or bust mode this year. This is a big game between a pair of NFC giants.
