The second loss came on Sunday night, with the Seattle Seahawks losing their unbeaten start to the season in an absolute thriller against the Arizona Cardinals. This weekend will represent the midway point of the season for several teams, with the battle for the playoff spots in each conference now becoming quite serious. There are a lot of big games on the Week 8 schedule, so let’s see if we can pick out some winners so you can place your bets against their NFL odds.

Straight-Up Picks for Week 8 of the 2020 Season | NFL Betting

Pittsburgh Steelers over Baltimore Ravens

Some might argue, but for me, this is the game of the week. We have the Steelers trying to maintain their impressive unbeaten start to the season against their biggest rival. This will not decide who wins the AFC North, but it would certainly give the Steelers a serious edge if they can come away with a win over the Ravens on Sunday afternoon. It has been the Ravens who have had the better of this matchup in recent years, winning 6 of the last 10 meetings, but this is arguably the best Steelers team, from top to bottom, that we have seen in quite some time. This will be, as it always is, a hard-hitting, tight affair, but I am taking the Steelers to come out on top in what should be a fun one to watch.

Over the last few seasons, the Detroit Lions have become known as a team that gives up leads in the 4^th quarter of games. They flipped that script over the weekend, taking down the Atlanta Falcons in a stunning come from behind win in a game that they looked set to lose. The Lions have now won back to back games, but they will have another tough one coming this weekend against an Indianapolis Colts team that is 4-2 and beginning to see some success with Phillip Rivers under center. They have now won 4 of their last 5 and should be fresh and ready to go after a bye week. While they have not been great on the road of late, the Colts have won 5 of their last 6 visits to Detroit.

Buffalo Bills over New England Patriots

When was the last time that we saw the New England Patriots sitting below .500 in the month of October? It has been a while, but the fact that they are sitting at 2-4 at this stage of the season is a definite sign that all is not well down in Foxboro. We hate to classify any game as being a must win, but this is almost certainly it for New England. The 5-2 Buffalo Bills struggled to put away the hapless Jets over the weekend, but they did get the job done eventually. They have lost each of their last 7 meetings with the Patriots, but I have a feeling that run comes to an end this weekend.
