Anaheim At St. Louis Betting Lines, Pick & TV Info

Written by on March 10, 2017

Of the last 5 Stanley Cup’s, there have been 4 winners that have come from the Western Conference. It’s fair to say that it has been the superior of the two conferences for the past decade or so, but there is a little bit of a shift taking place this season. There are several teams in the west that look as though they could go all the way this season, but some of the powerhouses of the past few years are struggling more than we expected. One of the biggest falls from grace has to be in St. Louis, where the Blues have gone from perennial contender to a team holding on to the final Wild Card spot in the conference. Another loss could see them fall below the playoff line, and they have a tough game coming up when the Anaheim Ducks come to town on Friday night. The Ducks are close to getting dragged into the Wild Card spot, so both teams will be going all out for the win. Find the updated NHL betting odds here.

Why bet on the Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks (35-22-10) are right in the thick of what has become a pretty intense battle for the Pacific Division. The Ducks, Oilers, and Flames are now all within 2 points of one another, and they are all trying to chase down the San Jose Sharks on top. While it currently looks as though all 4 of these teams are a good bet for the playoffs, they all know that a string of losses could pull them right back down into a playoff struggle. Anaheim Ducks appear to be starting to roll again, as they are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games, and are coming into this one on a modest 2-game winning streak. Anaheim are playing .500 hockey on the road, and have a 9-6-1 record overall versus teams from the Central Division.

Why bet on the St. Louis Blues

The Blues (33-27-5) are currently sitting in 4th in the Central, but they are well off the pace being set at the top. They are currently in possession of the final Wild Card spot in the West, but are clinging to a rather precarious 1-point lead over the LA Kings. The Blues appear to be coming to terms with the pressure, as they too are coming into this game having won back to back games. The Blues have also won 3 of their last 4 meetings with Anaheim, and are a solid 18-11-4 on home ice this season. They also have a winning record versus Pacific Division foes, which is another notch in their belt.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

These are two good teams that appear to be evenly matched, and I would not be surprised to see this one go to OT or a SO. Giving the slight edge to the Ducks here.
