Why Bet On Arizona

The Coyotes have won two straight and come into this contest off a hard-fought 2-1 win over the New York Islanders on Monday. Clayton Keller found the back of the net less than five minutes into the game and Conor Garland lit the lamp in the third period to ensure the win while becoming Arizona’s first 20-goal scorer since 2017-18.

“I mean I think it’s just, ya know, it’s just, it’s just another goal,” the 23-year-old Garland said afterward. “I just want to play well and I thought our line did a pretty good job (Monday) and it’s good that we got rewarded, we had two good games here so it’s just good to get rewarded as a line.”

Goalie Antti Raanta turned back 28 of 29 shots to get the win and improve to 13-13-3 on the year. After taking on the Stars tonight, the Coyotes have another tough date on Thursday against the defending champion St. Louis Blues.

“These are two teams who are heavily favored to go far, both similar in the way they play, both stingy defensively,” Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. “Great goalies, stingy defense, they’ve got some defensemen that are mobile. … We have to play our style against those two teams.”

Arizona averages a modest 2.7 goals per game (25th), but the Coyotes limit the opposition to just 2.6 goals per game defensively to rank a stellar fourth in goals allowed. Arizona has gone 15-13-3-1 on the road this season.

Why Bet On Dallas

The Stars had their four-game winning streak snapped in their 4-3 overtime loss against Ottawa on Sunday.

John Klingberg, Stephen Johns and Joe Pavelski all scored, but goalie Anton Khudobin gave up all four goals on 46 shots to take the loss and fall to 14-7-2 on the year.

“There’s no bad points in this league,” Stars interim coach Rick Bowness said. “We knew going into this month that seven of our first nine were on the road. We haven’t lost one in regulation (on the road) so we’ll take it, but you know me, we’re never satisfied. We just want to keep pushing for those points.”

Dallas also averages 2.7 goals per game () while limiting the opposition to just 2.5 goals per game to rank a stupendous third in goals allowed. The Stars have gone 17-9-1-1 at home this season.

Coyotes vs Stars Expert Analysis and Prediction

While Arizona is on a nice roll and Dallas had their modest winning streak snapped the last time out, I like the Stars to rebound nicely in this affair by getting the hard-fought, one-goal win in a pairing of two, nearly identical teams. The Coyotes have struggled mightily on the road in going 1-6 in their last 7 games as a road underdog and 1-8 in their last 9 road games overall.

On the flip side of the coin, Dallas has gone 15-7 in their last 22 home games and 7-3 in their last 10 games against their Western Conference rivals. Arizona is an awful 3-14 in their last 17 road dates against Dallas and 6-18 in the last 24 meetings overall. The home team is 20-7 in the last 27 meetings while the favorite is 21-6 in the last 27 meetings. Add it all up, and it comes out to a narrow win for the Stars!
