Anaheim vs Nashville Game 3 NHL Playoffs Betting Preview

Written by on April 18, 2016

It wouldn’t be the NHL playoffs if we didn’t have a surprise or two along the way. When looking at the opening round match-ups, I tried to keep an eye open for a series that might well provide a shock result. One of the first ones that I immediately threw out was the series between the Anaheim Ducks and the Nashville Predators. I believed that the gap between the two teams was simply too large to be bridged, and that the Ducks would skate to a comfortable first round win. I really couldn’t have been any more incorrect, as the Predators have stunned everyone by winning both games in Anaheim to head home with a 2-0 series lead. To suggest that this series is over based on the outcome of those first two games is a mistake that I am not about to make, as I expect the Ducks to still put up a fight in the remaining games. Game 3 may well prove to be the pivotal one in the series, and you can wager on it at our pro hockey lines page at MyBookie.ag.

Why bet on the Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks ended the regular season with the best defensive record in the league, as well as having the best power play and penalty kill units in the NHL. Their one downfall was their offense, but that had improved vastly during the second half of the season. They have been let down by all units during the first 2 games, losing 3-2 in both, and it’s tough to imagine that they will continue to struggle throughout the remainder of this series. The Ducks are in a deep hole right now, but a win on the road in Nashville could start to turn the tide back in their favor. This team had their backs against the wall early in the season and battled back, so they know they have the ability to do it again.

Why bet on the Nashville Predators

While everyone is surprised at how well the Predators played in the opening 2 games of the series, you have to wonder why that is the case. After all, Nashville took 2 of 3 from the Ducks in the regular season, but the caveat there was that those wins came in the very early part of the season when Anaheim were struggling to find their feet. Nashville barely finished above .500 on the road this season, which makes their Game 1 and 2 wins all the more surprising. They are a much better team on home ice, which only adds to the pressure that the Ducks are currently facing. A game 3 win could well see the brooms being readied for Game 4.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I had the Ducks winning this series in 5, and while that prediction has already been blown out of the water, I still believe they are good enough to make a series of this. It all begins with a win for Anaheim in Game 3. Anaheim Ducks 3 Nashville Predators 2
