Florida Vs Boston Pro Hockey Lines Analysis

Written by on March 23, 2016

If you remember way back to the start of the NHL season, it looked as though the Montreal Canadiens were going to run away with the Atlantic Division. I have said in the past that the NHL schedule is probably the most brutal of all the professional sports, and it certainly took a toll on the Canadiens. They have now faded out of sight, leaving Florida, Boston, and Tampa Bay to battle it out for division supremacy. Just 3 points separate that group at the top of the division, and things may get tighter still on Thursday night when the Florida Panthers travel to Beantown to take on the Boston Bruins. This is basically a must win for the Bruins, as a loss would put them 5 points back of Florida with time beginning to run out on the season. Huge playoff implications on the table here, which is why this is a game you need to tune into. Don’t forget to place your NHL betting wagers before the puck drops.

Why bet on the Florida Panthers

This is an important week for the Florida Panthers (40-24-9), s it could go a long way towards determining whether or not they will win the Atlantic Division. After they face the Bruins on Thursday, they will head down to Tampa to face the Lightning on Saturday night, knowing that a win in both of those games would put them firmly in the driver’s seat. The problem is that the Panthers have just not been playing very well of late, and are heading into this game after back to back losses to the Red Wings and Rangers. They are now just 4-5-1 in their last 10, and need a strong finish to get some confidence back heading into the playoffs. Florida are averaging 2.7 GPG, and are giving up 2.4 GPG.

Why bet on the Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins (39-26-8) probably cannot wait to get back home after a 4-game road trip that is in danger of becoming a total wipeout. They started out with 3 straight losses to the California teams, and will have another tough one at MSG against the Rangers on Wednesday night. The losses are now starting to pile up, which is strange for a team that has been much better on the road than they have been at home this season. The bruins are playing .500 hockey at the Garden this year, but the good news is that they are going against a Panthers team that they have already beaten 3 times this season. The Bruins are averaging 2.9 GPG, and are giving up 2.7 GPG.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

One of these two teams is going to break out of their slump with a win in this one. The Bruins may have already won 3 games against the Panthers this season, but I think their luck is about to run out. I’m taking Florida to win in a high-scoring game.
