Will the reeling Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings snap out of the ugly funk they’ve both been in for the better part of the last two weeks? Can the streaking Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers stay hot this coming week?
Last but not least, who’s going to come out on top when St. Louis hosts Colorado in a matchup of top heavyweight title contenders? With a brand new week of NHL action here, let’s take a look at the top ‘must-bet’ games of the coming week so you can place your bets against their NHL odds.
NHL Must Bet Games in the Week (Feb 2nd to Feb. 7th)
Ottawa at Edmonton
- When: Tuesday, February 2 at 10:00 PM ET
Ottawa (1-7-1) comes into this matchup reeling from eight straight losses including an 8-5 smackdown against the Oilers on Sunday. Edmonton (5-6) has won two straight and three of five. Surprisingly, the Senators have won six of the last seven road dates in this rivalry while the Over has gone a perfect 6-0 in the last six meetings.
Detroit at Tamp Bay
- When: Wednesday, February 3 at 5:30 PM ET
Detroit (2-6-2) has lost six straight including its 3-2 road loss against Florida on Sunday. Tampa Bay (5-1-1) swept Nashville in its two-game series over the weekend. The defending champion Lightning are the far, far superior team in this pairing, but Detroit won the last meetings 5-4 in a shootout just over a year ago. Still, Tampa Bay has gone 22-4 in the last 26 meetings while the home team in this matchup has gone 18-7 in the last 25 meetings.
Washington at NY Rangers
- When: Thursday, February 4 at 7:00 PM ET
Washington (6-1-3) had its three-game winning streak snapped by losing to Boston 5-3 on Monday night. New York (3-4-1) has won two of its last three including a 3-1 win over Pittsburgh on Monday night. The Rangers have won two straight in this rivalry – after losing the previous even meetings. Washington will be focused and has the far more dangerous offense.
Boston at Philadelphia
- When: Friday, February 5 at 7:00 PM ET
I’m fired up for this matchup NHL betting buffs. Boston (6-1-2) took out Washington 5-3 on Monday night to improve to 4-1 over its last five games. Philadelphia (7-2-1) hits the new week riding a four-game winning streak that includes a 4-3 win over the Islanders on Sunday night. Boston has won three of the last four against Philly including a 6-1 blowout win on Jan. 23, two days after getting past the Flyers 5-4 in a shootout.
Vancouver at Toronto
- When: Saturday, February 6 at 7:00 PM ET
Vancouver (6-6) had its four-game winning streak snapped in Monday’s 6-2 smackdown loss against Montreal. Toronto (7-2-1) had its four-game winning streak snapped in its 4-3 overtime loss against Edmonton on Saturday. The Maple Leafs have won two straight in this rivalry and four of the last five meetings overall.
Colorado at St. Louis
- When: Sunday, February 7 at 3:00 PM ET
Colorado (6-3-1) had its three-game winning streak snapped in its narrow 4-3 road loss against Minnesota on Sunday. St. Louis (6-2-1) has won three straight and four of five including a 4-1 win over Anaheim on Sunday. Colorado has won three straight in this rivalry – after St. Louis won the previous three meetings. This one is going to be a flat-out thriller.
