Dallas vs St. Louis NHL Playoffs Game 4 Odds Report

Written by on May 4, 2016

Every team, regardless of the sport, has some sort of weakness just waiting to be exposed at any given time. With the better teams, those weaknesses are often a little tougher to find, but there are occasions when they are truly glaring. For the Dallas Stars, it has been their defense and goaltending that has been a little iffy all year long. The fact that it didn’t get a lot of attention was mainly because they are able to light it up offensively, and can more often than not overcome those games where they give up 3 or 4 goals. When that weakness is exposed is when they face a team that can shut down their high-powered offense, and after Game 3 of their current series, it looks as though the St. Louis Blues may have cracked the code on how to do that. The Blues head into Game 4 on Thursday night with a 2-1 series lead, and have a real chance to take a stranglehold on this one with a home ice win. How To Bet The Stars vs Blues NHL Playoffs Odds, TV & Game Info

When: Thursday, May 5 at 8 PM EST Where: Scottrade Center, St. Louis TV: NBCSN Radio: Stars and Blues Live Stream: NBCSN NHL Odds: TBA

Why bet on the Dallas Stars

The Stars have to be looking back at Game 2 as a missed opportunity, as they had the chance to head to St. Louis with a 2-0 series lead. They lost that one in overtime, and then carried a bit of a hangover on the road, losing Game 3 by a score of 6-1. It would be easy to write this team off, especially since their offense has been silenced somewhat in this series, but this always felt like a series that was going to go 7 games. The Stars are now in a position where they are going to have to win one on the road in order to advance, but they have already done that twice in the opening round against the Minnesota Wild. This series is far from over.

Why bet on the St. Louis Blues

St. Louis have done a great job in shutting down the Stars offense, holding them to 6 goals through the first 3 games. That is a he accomplishment when you consider that Dallas were averaging 3.2 goals per game through the regular season. The dominance of the Blues in this series is not a big surprise to a lot of hockey fans, though, as St. Louis did take 4 of 5 from Dallas in their regular season series. The problem here is that the Blues have had a bit of a history of choking in the playoffs, so it was just assumed that they would do the same this time around. A win in Game 4 may silence even more of their critics.

My Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I have gone back and forth on this game a number of times, but have ended up falling on the side of the St. Louis Blues. That does not mean that I think this series would be over, though, as that Stars offense is due to wake up at any moment. Dallas Stars 2 St. Louis Blues 4
