SU, ATS And Total Score Prediction For NHL Stanley Cup Game 1

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is set for Monday night in Pittsburgh, and there are several betting opportunities open to you for this game. We are going to take a look at the 3 main bets, while also making some predictions that we hope will put a little extra money in your pocket so that you can up the ante a little in the other games in this series. The defending Stanley Cup champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, will be playing the upstart Nashville Predators, with the opening two games of the 7-game series set to be played at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

The Predators will be looking for the split that would put home ice advantage in their favor, but they are going to have a tough time doing that against a team that has been very good in their own building. Let’s look at the hockey odds and make some predictions.

Analyzing The SU, ATS And Total Score Prediction For NHL Stanley Cup Game 1

Stanley Cup Final Game 1 Straight Up Pick

No real surprise that the Penguins (-170) are the favorites for the opening game of the series, as they have been great at home all season long. They had the best regular season record at home, and are a healthy 7-3 in the postseason, including 3 straight wins in their own building. The Nashville Predators (+145) cannot be totally counted out, though, as they have won each of the three Game 1’s that they have played this postseason, with all of those wins coming on the road. While there is a good chance the Predators might well get the split, I like the Penguins in Game 1. Stanley Cup Final Game 1 ATS Pick

Stanley Cup Final Game 1 ATS Pick

The Penguins are the favorites at -1.5 ATS, but again, we need to remember that Game 1 has been kind to the Predators on the road, with all three of their victories coming by a single goal. The Penguins are 2-1 in the opening game of their 3 series, and their biggest margin of victory was by 2 goals. During their regular season series, the teams split the two games, with the home team coming up trumps in each of those meetings. The Penguins won their home game by a score of 4-2, and I think we might well be looking at a similar margin of victory here, which is why I am taking the Penguins to cover.

Stanley Cup Final Total Score Pick

As is usually the case with hockey, the total score for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final has been set at 5.5 goals. If you look at the regular season meetings between these two, you might well consider the OVER, as each of the two games produced 6 goals. Playoff hockey is a bit of a different beast, though, and things tend to be a little tighter, especially in the opening game of the series. I have the Penguins winning this one by 2 goals, and since I think the final score will be 3-1 in favor of the Pens, I will be playing the UNDER.
