Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Feb. 21st – 24th)

Written by on February 20, 2017

It’s Monday, which means it’s time to take a look at the week ahead to see what NHL games might be worth having a little flutter on. We are nearing the end of February and time is running out for the teams that are still on the outside looking in at the Wild Card race. It’s a tight battle in both the Eastern and Western Conferences, but it’s now getting to the point where one or two more bad weeks could see teams pushed to the brink of elimination. The games that I am going to focus on for this week are those that have some sort of divisional or playoff race importance, with the good news being that there are plenty of those to go around over the next few days. Find the updated NHL betting predictions here.

Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Feb. 21st – 24th)

Chicago Blackhawks at Minnesota Wild – Tuesday

For the past few season, the Central Division has been the best in the NHL. It has taken a little bit of a dip this year, but there is still a great race taking place at the top. The Minnesota Wild have been a very pleasant surprise, and are now in possession of the second-best record in the league. The Blackhawks are trying to close the 7-point gap at the top, and it’s fair to say that a win on the road versus the leaders would help their cause. Both teams are in great form right now, so expect this one to be a great game.

Boston Bruins at Anaheim Ducks – Wednesday

These two teams would be in the playoffs if the season were to end today, but it’s fair to say that the Ducks are in a much safer position than the Bruins. The Atlantic Division is about as tight as it gets right now, and while the Bruins are currently occupying the third spot in there, they are a mere 8 points ahead of the last place Detroit Red Wings. A couple of losses could send them tumbling down the rankings and out of the playoff picture. The Bruins are 5 games above .500 on the road this season, but will have a tough time against a Ducks team that is 18-7-3 on home ice.

New York Rangers at Toronto Maple Leafs – Thursday

If you need a clue to how good the Metropolitan Division is this year, just take a look at the New York Rangers. They are currently sitting on 77 points, yet are still only 4th in the division and also relegated to a Wild Card spot. They can move up by winning a couple of games this week, which is not something that can be said for the Maple Leafs. Toronto hold the final Wild Card spot, but have a host of teams breathing down their neck. There is still a lot of hockey to be played, but it is starting to look as though all those teams are playing for a single spot.

Edmonton Oilers at Washington Capitals – Friday

The Oilers have a young group of guys who are putting it all together this season, and they are still very much in the hunt for the Pacific Division crown. They will get a real test this Friday night when they make the trip to Washington to face a Capitals team that has opened up a 5-point lead at the top of the Metropolitan Division. These two teams look to be playoff bound, making this match-up one worth watching and wagering on.
