Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Feb. 13th – 18th)

Written by on February 13, 2017

We are at the stage in the NHL season when teams who are sitting outside the playoff picture really need to start thinking about making a move. The majority of teams have around 25 games to play, which is still time to get things turned around, but also one step closer to the point of no return. It’s another full schedule on tap for the coming week, with some excellent match-ups on the hockey calendar. Let’s look at what may potentially be the best games out there this coming week, and perhaps I’ll even throw in a few NHL betting predictions while I’m at it.

Analyzing The Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Feb. 13th – 18th)

New York Rangers at Columbus Blue Jackets – Monday

This has all the makings of a great Metropolitan Division clash, as these are two teams that are no strangers to putting the puck in the net. The New York Rangers have cooled off after a great start to the season, and the Blue jackets appear to have hit their stride. There are only 2 points separating these teams, and while the Capitals are starting to open up at the top of the division, both teams here still have an outside shot at running them down. I think this one will go OVER the 5.5, and I like the Rangers to eke out the win.

Anaheim Ducks at Minnesota Wild – Tuesday

Two of the better teams in the Western Conference will duke it out on Tuesday night, with the Wild looking to increase their somewhat surprising lead atop the Central Division. The Wild have been nothing short of outstanding on home ice, so this is going to be a tough test for a Ducks team that is sitting at .500 on the road. Minnesota are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, while things have not gone so well for Anaheim during that same stretch. Taking the Wild to win this one.

Florida Panthers at San Jose Sharks – Wednesday

The Sharks are starting to open up a decent lead at the top of the Pacific Division, but will need to be at their best to handle a Panthers team led by the seemingly ageless Jaromir Jagr. The Panthers have been playing better hockey recently, and are now just 3 points back of the final Wild Card spot held by the Maple Leafs in the Easter Conference. The Sharks are ridiculously good on home ice, though, which is why I like them to come away with the win on Wednesday night.

Edmonton Oilers at Chicago Blackhawks – Saturday

These two teams are starting out this week sitting in second spot in their respective divisions. The Blackhawks are a team on fire right now, and are coming into the new week on a 5-game winning streak. The Oilers have been a little up and down of late, but they have an offensive unit that can wreak havoc at any given time. Neither one of these teams wants to lose any more ground in their divisional races, which is why both will be going all out for the win. Gotta give the edge to the surging Blackhawks in this one.
