Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Feb. 27 – March 3)

Written by on February 27, 2017

The NHL has the longest regular season in professional sports, and we are now getting to the point where things are starting to come down to the wire. There is only 1 full month of hockey left to be played, which means an insane amount of pressure is now being heaped on the teams that are currently embroiled in a playoff dogfight. There were plenty of hockey fans who did not like the changes made to the playoff set-up, particularly the Wild Card, but they have been proven wrong, as each season since has delivered some nail-biting finishes. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best NHL betting predictions and games on tap for the coming week.

Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Feb. 27th – March 3rd)

LA Kings at Minnesota Wild – Monday

The Kings have been Stanley Cup champions a couple of times in recent years, but they are currently sitting on the outside looking in at the playoff race. They are watching as the Calgary Flames are getting hot and opening up a bit of a gap, and things don’t get any easier for LA to start this week off, as they have to head to Minnesota to face a Wild team that has the best record in the Western Conference, and who are incredibly tough to beat in their own building. The Kings need to star winning right now.

Washington Capitals at New York Rangers – Tuesday

It is the Metropolitan Division that is proving to be the most competitive in the NHL this season, and we have a great divisional match-up all set for Tuesday night. The Capitals are leading the way in the division, as well as in the NHL overall, but they have several teams looking to eat into their lead. The Rangers have won 7 of their last 10 games and have re-discovered the explosive offense that made them so dangerous in the early part of the season.

Pittsburgh Penguins at Chicago Blackhawks – Wednesday

It’s always fun to speculate which two teams will face off in the Stanley Cup Final. Given the pedigree of these two teams, it would not be too much of a surprise if it was Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh who were the ones squaring off for all the marbles. Both teams have remarkably similar records at this stage of the season, and both have proven in recent years that they are able to handle the pressure that starts to mount at this late point of the regular season. This could very well be a preview of the upcoming Stanley Cup Final.

St. Louis Blues at Winnipeg Jets – Friday

We spoke at the beginning of this piece about the pressure that several teams are under right now, and these two teams most certainly fall into that category. The Blues are on a slide that has seen them drop all the way down to the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. The Jets are currently 5 points back of that coveted spot and could really ramp up the pressure on the Blues with a win in this one. Both teams are running out of time, and every point is critical at this stage of the season, especially when you pick them up against other teams in the playoff hunt.
