Top NHL Betting Picks Of The Week (Jan. 24th – 26th)

Written by on January 24, 2017

There are only 3 days left in the first half of the NHL season, with the All-Star game set for this weekend. That means we still have some time to win some money, and there are certainly some good NHL betting games to choose from between now and Thursday. I have picked out some games where I think there is a good chance to cash in and boost your bankroll before getting ready for the second half.

Analyzing The Top NHL Betting Picks Of The Week (Jan. 24th – 26th)

Columbus Blue Jackets over New York Islanders – Tuesday

The Blue Jackets were the hottest team in the league for a moment, and while they have come back down to earth a little in the past couple of weeks, they are still sitting just off the pace at the top of the Metropolitan Division. The Blue Jackets are 14-5-3 on the road this season, and should be a solid bet against the Islanders, even though they have played their best hockey on home ice. The Islanders look doomed to finish at the bottom of the division this season, and I don’t see them being able to hold off a very good Columbus offense in this one.

Montreal Canadiens over Calgary Flames – Tuesday

It looked for a moment as though the Flames were starting to put things together under new head coach Glen Gulutzan, but they have been on a slide over the past week or so. They come into this one on a 3-game losing skid, and their cause has not been helped by having their offense suddenly dry up. The Canadiens have been consistently good all season, especially at home, where they are 16-5-3. Montreal should be good enough to take out a Flames team that is just 3-6-1 in their last 110 games.

Toronto Maple Leafs over Detroit Red Wings – Wednesday

This time last year, the Toronto Maple Leafs were floundering at the bottom of the NHL, but they did have some hope with a great new coaching hire and the possibility of the top pick in the draft. Things have turned out better than anyone expected, and the Leafs are now in the thick of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. They will go against a bitter rival in the form of the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night. Detroit has lost back to back games, and are only .500 on home ice. This should be a win for the Leafs.

Washington Capitals over New Jersey Devils – Thursday

There is no team hotter than the Washington Capitals right now, as they are coming into the final week of the first half of the season having gone 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. The Capitals have been great on the road this season, going 13-4-5 so far, and it’s no real surprise that they have managed to claw their way back to the top of the Metropolitan Division. Things have not been so good for the Devils, as they ae at the opposite end of the division. They have been better of late, going 5-3-2 in their last 10, but they still look in over their heads here.
