Updated 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Odds Analysis

The President’s Cup-winning Washington Capitals are favored to win their first-ever Stanley Cup trophy at +350. The defending-champion Chicago Blackhawks are next up at +659, but they face an uphill battle just to get out of the Western Conference this postseason. Sidney Crosby and the incendiary Pittsburgh Pirates are third on the board after catching fire late in the regular season.

Odds to win the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals

Pittsburgh Penguins 15/2
Anaheim Ducks 8/1
Dallas Stars 8/1
Los Angeles Kings 8/1
St. Louis Blues 9/1
New York Rangers 15/1
San Jose Sharks 15/1
Tampa Bay Lightning 18/1
Florida Panthers 20/1
New York Islanders 20/1
Nashville Predators 25/1
Minnesota Wild 30/1
Detroit Red Wings 40/1
Philadelphia Flyers 50/1
The Anaheim Ducks and Dallas Stars are tied at +800, but for me, Dallas has a much better chance of winning it all and at +800, I believe the Stars are worthy of a wager. Los Angeles Kings are also sitting at +800 and their stellar defense could propel them to great heights just as it did two years ago. I also like San Jose at +1500 and Florida at +2000. Sure, both teams have blemishes, but they’re good picks if you’re looking for long shot underdogs to at least win a round or two. The Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers, the last two teams to earn a ticket to this year’s postseason party, are seen as the longest shots at +4000 and +5000.
