NRL Odds, Betting Top Matches in the Round 13

It’s a bit of a quieter weekend in the NRL, with several teams on a bye and just 5 games to choose from.

We have already seen one of those games played, with the Eels sending the Sharks to their second straight defeat, which means we also now have a new team sitting atop the ladder.

My Analysis for NRL Round 13 Top Games

It’s the Storm who now sit at the top of the heap, but things are incredibly tight, with just 6 points separating the top team from the #8 team on the ladder. At this point, you also cannot count out the teams sitting below the cut line, as they are all still well within reach. It goes without saying that the 4 remaining games this weekend are all important in their own right, so let’s take a closer look.

Newcastle Knights -169 vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs +148

This is one that is huge for both teams when you consider their current standings. The Knights are currently in the #8 spot, but a win here could vault them up a couple of places, depending on how the other games play out. They will be looking to put some space between themselves and the Bulldogs, who are currently sitting 10th. There are just 2 points separating these two, though, so a win for the Bulldogs could get them back above the cut line. The Knights are hot, winning 4 in a row heading into this weekend.

Penrith Panthers -227 vs St. George Dragons +177

The Panthers have the top of the ladder in their sights, as they are on 18 points and just 2 points out of the lead. They have been in good form of late, winning 4 of their last 5, but perhaps more importantly, they are a perfect 4-0 at home this season. You would certainly like their chances against the Dragons, who appear to be heading in the wrong direction after picking up just 1 win in their last 4 games. They have also struggled on the road, going 2-4 in their first 6 games away from home.

The Dolphins -172 vs Canberra Raiders +139

While there are 5 spots separating these two teams in the ladder, they are in fact separated by just 2 points, so we could well see something of a seismic shift in the standings depending on the outcome of this one. The Dolphins have won 3 of their last 5, and while they have been a little better on the road, they still have a 3-2 record in home games. The Raiders are 2-2 in their last 4 outings and are a game below .500 on the road, so there is, perhaps, a slight edge for the Dolphins, who have their eye on the top spot.

Sydney Roosters -556 vs North Queensland Cowboys +360

The final game of the weekend is the one that looks to be the most lopsided, but as we saw in the Sharks loss yesterday, you simply cannot take anything for granted. The Roosters are playing well at the moment, winning 4 of their last 5 games, plus they also have a winning record at home this season. The Cowboys have just 2 wins in their last 5, but they are still just 2 points below the cut line. They have gone 3-4 in road games this season.
