NRL Odds Round 15: Betting on the Toughest Matchups This Week

NRL Odds: Best Matches This Weekend

This weekend in the NRL will be busy as teams fight for the top 8 spots.

My Analysis

Things are astonishingly tight on the ladder at the moment, with a mere 7 points separating the team at the top from the team down in 11th.

It is becoming harder to predict game outcomes and how the regular season will unfold as each weekend passes. Given the games that are on the schedule over the next few days, it doesn’t seem to be getting any easier to predict wins and losses.

It’s a full slate of games coming between Thursday and Sunday, but we have picked out 4 that we believe to be the best for your rugby betting plans, so let’s get to them.

New Zealand Warriors -114 vs Melbourne Storm -109

You need only look at the odds for this one to get an idea of how evenly matched these two teams are. The Warriors are below the cut line in 10th, but a win this weekend could move them up into the top 8, depending on how the other games play out.

They have won 3 of their last 4 games and are 4-2 at home. The Storm sits atop the ladder on 22 points, but this is going to be a tough road trip for them. They are just 2-2 in their last 4 games and have the same record away from home.

Parramatta Eels +175 vs Sydney Roosters -227

While the ladder is, for the most part, tight at the moment, there are a few teams who are reaching desperation point, with the Eels almost certainly in that category. They are down in 14th in the standings at the moment, 6 points below the cut line, and another loss could put them in even more peril.

On the bright side, they have a winning record of 4-3 at home. The Roosters are 6 points up on their weekend opponent, but they have been a little up and down of late, going 2-2 in their last 4. They do, though, have a winning road record at 4-3.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles -210 vs St. George Dragons +159

This is a huge game for both teams, as they are both looking to win their way back into the top 8. The Sea Eagles are down in 11th and on a poor run of form, winning just once in their last 4 games, although just a single point below the cut line.

They are back home for this one, where they have gone 5-2 this season. The Dragons are in the #9 spot right now and moving in the right direction after winning 3 of their last 4. While they are the road dogs here, be aware that they have won 3 times away from home.
