Ole Miss vs Auburn College Football Week 8 Odds & Betting Analysis

Ole Miss vs Auburn College Football Week 8 Odds & Betting Analysis

A pair of SEC West teams will get together on Saturday, as the 13th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels will visit the Auburn Tigers.

The Ole Miss Rebels are 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. The Rebels are coming off their bye last weekend, which was at a good time, following their hard-fought 27-20 win over Arkansas. The lone loss for the Rebels this season was to Alabama.

For Auburn, they have dropped three straight games. All three of them have been SEC games as well. The LSU Tigers smacked Auburn 48-18 last week. The Ole Miss Rebels come into this game as a touchdown favorite over Auburn.

Offense Flowing in Oxford

The Ole Miss Rebels started the season with 158 points in their first three games. Since then, they have scored 92 in their last three.

That is still fairly impressive, which puts them at 8th in all of College Football with 41.7 points per game. Defensively, they rank 59th, as they are allowing teams to score just shy of 24 points per game.

The offense has a few guys you have to look out for. Starting at the quarterback spot, where Jaxson Dart is just 362 yards away from 2,000 on the season. Dart has 12 touchdown passes on the season.

Jordan Watkins has been his top target this season, with six receptions per game. Watkins also has 536 yards. Quinshon Judkins is the lead running back for a team averaging nearly 184 yards per game on the ground. Judkins has six rushing touchdowns.

The Rebels will host Vanderbilt and Texas A&M after this before going on the road to the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs on November 11th.

Tigers Looking to Get Back on Track

The Auburn Tigers have seen the train come off the tracks a bit since conference play got underway. After wins over UMass, California, and Samford, the Tigers have dropped games to Texas A+M, Georgia, and LSU. Those three losses were by an average of 18 points per game.

The Tigers have struggled a bit to score this season. They are scoring just 27 points per game, which is not enough to compete at the top of the SEC. The passing game has been horrific and one of the worst in all of College Football. The Tigers are passing for just 155.8 yards per game.

On the ground, Auburn has been good, with nearly 192 yards per game. The top running back threat has been their quarterback Payton Thorne, with 225 yards and two touchdowns.

Jarquez Hunter leads the team with three touchdowns on the ground. This is the first of back-to-back home games for the Tigers.

Next week, Mississippi State will come to town. The final four games for Auburn are at Vanderbilt and Arkansas and at home against New Mexico State and Alabama.

Ole Miss vs Auburn Betting Prediction | Ole Miss Comes in Rested and wins Big

This game seems like it may be a no-contest. Sure, anytime Auburn gets a chance to play at Jordan-Hare, they are a little better. But this Auburn team just is not very talented.

The Ole Miss Rebels are going to be rested coming into this game, and expect their offense to do what LSU did last week.

If this game is an aerial attack, the Tigers are in big trouble. If they can keep the game a slow, grinding, running type game, Auburn may have a chance.

In the end, Ole Miss wins this game by double digits. The final bet for this SEC affair on Saturday is the Ole Miss -7 over Auburn.
