Opening Baseball Odds on Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves

For any teams in the MLB, there is little to play for other than pride for them and their MLB betting fans and potentially a roster spot next year. That said, there are a number of minor battles going on in the divisions, with the goal of not being in last place high on the list of many. The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins are both in with a shot of landing in the cellar in the NL East, so they will be looking to come out on top in their current series, which comes to a close in Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon.

Taking a Look at the Opening Baseball Odds on Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves & TV Info

Date/Time: Wednesday, September 2, 12:10 PM, ET Venue: Turner Field, Atlanta, Georgia TV: SPSO Radio: WCNN 680/WYAY 106.7, Braves Radio Network It has been a season of change for the Atlanta Braves (54-77), and that trend continued on Monday night when they shipped Jonny Gomes out to the Royals. Gomes was never intended to be part of the long term plan in Atlanta, so the move really isn’t that shocking. What has been shocking, though, is the play of the Braves coming down the stretch. This is a team that cannot score runs, and which has been giving them up at a rather alarming rate. You need only look at the 38 runs surrendered in a 3-game series with the Yankees over the weekend to see how far things have fallen. The Braves have just 1 win in their last 14 games, and are on a 6-game skid right now that includes a loss in the opening game of this series. Edwin Jackson (2-2, 3.57 ERA) will be taken out of the bullpen and placed in the starting spot for this one. As bad as the Marlins (53-79) have been this season, they could potentially move into third place in the division with a sweep of the Braves. While a 3rd place spot is not particularly exciting in the grand scheme of things, it is a sign that this team has continued to battle when they could easily just have closed up the shop weeks ago. They are just 2-8 in their last 10, but had the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals on their schedule during that stretch. Both of those teams are in the playoff hunt, so it wasn’t really a huge surprise to see the Marlins get taken down in those series. The Marlins could also get a nice boost this week, as Giancarlo Stanton may be back in the line-up as early as Friday. Adam Conley (2-1, 4.96 ERA) will get the start for Miami on Wednesday.
