Dan Lanning and his Oregon Ducks had a 2023 season to remember as they went 12-2, including 8-1 in the final season of the Pac-12.
The Ducks lost in the Pac-12 title game to Washington, but went on to win in the Fiesta Bowl over Liberty 45-6.
The Ducks finished the season ranked sixth in the final Associated Press Poll.
Dan Lanning chose to remain at Oregon for the 2024 season, and now as they enter the Big Ten, the expectations are fairly high.

Oregon Ducks 10.5 Wins in 2024
Autzen Stadium in Eugene Oregon is one of the biggest home field advantages in all of College Football.
Now, that plus the talent Dan Lanning has, this is going to be a special season for the Ducks.
They are listed at 10.5 wins, here is what they are facing in 2024:
Oregon starts with back to back home games against the Idaho Vandals and the Boise State Broncos.
The Broncos have put together a nice program over the years, but heading to Eugene seems to be a little too difficult of a challenge.
The Ducks will be massive favorites in the opener against Idaho.
Week 3 – while no longer conference rivals, they are state rivals, and there is no doubt that the folks in Corvallis are going to be rowdy when the Ducks come to town September 14th.
Oregon against Oregon State is going to be one of the best games of the weekend.
Oregon takes a weekend off, and their first Big Ten game is on the road at the Rose Bowl.
They will take on the UCLA Bruins to finish off the month of September.
UCLA should be down a bit, but the DeShaun Foster era looks to be gaining steam.
The Ducks have a Friday night game at home against Michigan State to start October.
The Spartans are projected to be one of the worst teams in the Big Ten for the 2024 season.
They have an extra day off then to prepare for the October 12th game at home against Ohio State.
This is the Big Ten Game of the Year.
The top two favorites in the Big Ten, and two of the biggest title contenders.
Autzen will be ready for this tilt.
The next two games should be wins for Oregon.
The Ducks will make their first trip as a member of the Big Ten to West Lafayette Indiana.
There, the Purdue Boilermakers will be awaiting for a Friday night affair.
To wrap up October, the Ducks get a home game against Illinois on October 26th.
The first Saturday in November is another game for the Ducks to bookmark.
This is their chance to go into the Big House in Ann Arbor, and take on the national champion Michigan Wolverines.
Following the big game against Michigan, the Ducks will head back home and take on the Maryland Terrapins.
The final two games for Oregon are on the road at Madison Wisconsin against the Badgers, Thanksgiving week off, and then finish at home against a former Pac-12 rival in the Washington Huskies.
Washington will be down from a season ago, but still will be a threat to teams that do not take them as serious as they should.
The Big Ten Championship then would start the first Saturday in December.
The Big Ten no longer will have the East and the West divisional format.
All 18 teams will be part of the Big Ten standings.
The win total of 10.5 is a bit challenging, but for a team that has National Champion aspirations, they have a potential of playing up to 16 games in 2024.
Enjoy the College Football season and best of luck with all your betting for the college football season.

Oregon Ducks 2023 College Football Season Betting Guide
Previous Betting News
Dan Lanning’s first season in Oregon was a step back in the right direction for the Ducks football program. Last year, Oregon went 10-3 overall and finished tied in second place in the conference. The Ducks got some good news when Bo Nix decided to return for another season instead of testing the 2023 NFL Draft waters.
With all of the conference realignment talk, there is a lot that is up in air about what will go on in the future with Oregon. The Ducks are hoping to showcase why they should be attractive to other Power 5 leagues. Here’s a look at what to expect from Oregon in the 2023 season.
Let’s break down Oregon this year. Here’s the preview for your college football betting lines to win the NCAA National Championship.
Oregon Ducks 2023 Season Betting Guide | MyBookie College Betting Preview
Oregon Ducks | Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season
School: University of Texas at Austin
Head coach: Dan Lanning | 2nd season
Home field: Autzen Stadium | 54,000
Oregon Odds to Win Championship: +3200
Nix was a Perfect Fit
Nix’s team at Auburn wasn’t what he hoped for. For whatever reason, Nix was never able to live up to his potential with the Tigers. However, at Oregon last year, Nix blossomed, setting career-highs in passing yards (3,593) and touchdowns (29).
Replicating the success from last season will be important for the Ducks to have another successful season. Oregon did lose six players to the NFL Draft , including two offensive linemen.
Oregon Gets Chance to Ease into the Schedule
The Ducks won’t have to worry about being in deep waters too early in the season. After opening the season with FCS opponent Portland State, Oregon will get its biggest challenge when it travels to Lubbock, Texas, to take on the Red Raiders. Texas Tech was a solid program last season, finishing with an 8-5 record and victory over Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl.
Oregon will also take on a Hawaii program that struggled mightily. The Ducks also will open up conference play on Sept. 23 at home against Colorado. The Buffaloes are a program with a lot of hype with Deion Sanders taking over, but hasn’t proven anything yet.
October and November will Go a Long Way
The five-game stretch between Oct. 14 and Nov. 11 will say a lot about how Oregon’s season will go. The Ducks will have to travel to take on a talented Washington team in the first game of the stretch. After a home date with Washington State Oct. 21, the Ducks also will travel to Utah to take on the defending conference champion Utes Oct. 28 in Salt Lake City.
Oregon will also take on highly-regarded USC Nov. 11 in Oregon.
Oregon Ducks Odds to Win
Oregon is expected to be competitive again this season. The Ducks have an over/under win total of 9.5. Oregon has the second-best odds of winning the Pac-12 at +300. USC is the favorite at +170.
Oregon Season Prediction
The Ducks have seven home games and will have several ranked opponents to take on during the road. Oregon’s offense should be able to move forward effectively by returning an experienced Nix. While there are several potential pratfalls, the Ducks should be able to find enough offense to get over the win total.

NCAA Football Oregon State Beavers Betting Tips for Upcoming 2023 Season
Previous Betting News
Maybe no coach has done a better job in college football in recent years than Jonathan Smith has at Oregon State, which comes off a 10-win season in 2022 and might be ready to win the Pac-12 in 2023 before USC and UCLA go scampering off to the Big Ten. Here’s the preview for your college football betting odds to win the NCAA National Championship.
Oregon State Beavers 2023 College Football Season Betting Guide | MyBookie College Betting Preview
Oregon State Beavers | Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season
School: Oregon State University
Head coach: Jonathan Smith | 5th season
Home field: Reser Stadium | 26,407
Oregon State Odds to Win Championship:: +10000
Odds to win Pac-12: +1200
Regular-season wins: 8.5
Oregon State closed the regular season with a 38-34 upset of No. 9 Oregon to keep the Ducks from playing in the Rose Bowl. The Beavers were down 31-10 late in the third, but the Ducks gave their rivals a short field on three consecutive possessions. Oregon State converted all three drives into touchdowns without attempting a single pass and would complete a 9-3 regular season, the school’s best yet under coach Jonathan Smith, who took over a program that went 1-11 in 2017.
OSU would then beat Florida 30-3 in the Las Vegas Bowl to reach 10 victories for the third time in program history and the first time in 16 years. They first accomplished the feat in 2000, when Smith was the team’s quarterback. The bowl victory was Oregon State’s first since defeating Boise State in the 2013 Hawai’i Bowl. It was OSU’s first win against an SEC opponent as it was the Beavers’ first matchup with a team from the conference since 2004. Oregon State finished ranked 17th in the AP poll, the team’s highest since the 2000 team finished fourth.
There will be a QB battle this fall between incumbent Ben Gulbranson and former top recruit and Clemson transfer DJ Uiagalelei. Last year as a redshirt freshman, Gulbranson played in 10 games, making eight starts. He was 7-1 as the starter and went 121-of-194 (62.4 percent) passing, throwing for 1,455 yards and nine touchdowns. Also ran for 52 yards and five touchdowns while recording one catch.
Uiagalelei hails from Southern California, and his decision to head back West will connect him with one of West Coast’s ascending programs. At 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, Uiagalelei has elite arm talent, but he completed less than 60% of his passes in his Clemson career, throwing 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Spring camp saw Gulbranson and Uiagalelei both spend time running with the first team.
Oregon State returns all five starters on the offensive line and has one of the top young tailbacks in the country in Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and first-team all-conference running back ran Damien Martinez, who for 982 yards and seven touchdowns on just 161 carries, a performance that included six straight games in which he earned over 100 yards. Given the turnover at the position in his conference, he might already be the best running back in the Pac-12. Deshaun Fenwick and Jam Griffin both would be starters for a lot of programs, and combined for over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns last year for OSU and are back.
Receiver/return man Anthony Gould is vying for All-American honors for the second consecutive season. He was recognized by four publications last season after leading the nation with an average of 18.3 yards per punt return. He returned two of his 14 for touchdowns. He’s also the team’s most talented receiver but a bit inconsistent there.
Oregon State led the Pac-12 last year in total defense (332.8 yards per game). Repeating won’t be easy, as the Beavers lost breakthrough stars in linebackers Omar Speights and Kyrei Fisher-Morris, safety Jaydon Grant and corners Alex Austin and Rejzohn Wright. They were keys to last year’s surge, and without them the Beavers might revert to previous form. There needs to be more of a pass rush after generating just 20 sacks last year, and with top sacker Riley Sharp moving over to tight end.
The Beavers are 17-point favorites for their season opener Sept. 3 at San Jose State. Yes, that’s a Sunday game because the NFL regular season will not have started yet. Oregon State leads the series 4-2 but they haven’t played since 2015. San Jose State head coach Brent Brennan was the receivers coach for OSU from 2011-to-2016. OSU should win that and only be tested out of conference on Sept. 16 at home vs. likely future Pac-12 member San Diego State.
The schedule breaks mostly in the Beavers’ favor in league play as the Beavers don’t play USC and get Utah, Washington, and UCLA at home. Could a road trip to Oregon on Nov. 24 decide a spot in the conference title game?

Fearless Predictions for Oregon Football
Previous Betting News
Via the college football odds, Oregon is the team to beat in the Pac-12 this season. Are oddsmakers right? Let’s make a few fearless predictions for the 2021 Ducks.
Analysis College football | Oregon Season 2021
Oregon Will Win Pac-12 North
MyBookie doesn’t currently have odds active to win individual divisions in college football conferences but Oregon will be the betting favorite to win the North as it is already the overall +240 favorite to win the Pac-12 title game. Barring major injury or COVID issues, I do believe the Ducks are the best team in the North.
The Associated Press Preseason Top 25 was released on Monday and Oregon was ranked 12th. It marks the third straight season under head coach Mario Cristobal that Oregon has opened in the top 15 of the coaches poll. The Ducks are the highest ranked team in the Pac-12, with USC two spots behind at No. 14 and Washington coming in at No. 21. Utah, Arizona State, UCLA, Stanford and California also received votes.
Ten members of the Oregon football team received preseason all-Pac-12 honors in a vote of the conference’s media. Defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux was the lone unanimous first-team all-conference selection, and he was joined on the first team by center Alex Forsyth and cornerback Mykael Wright.
Thibodeaux could be the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was once the No. 1-ranked overall high school recruit.
The Ducks will have a rematch with USC in the Pac-12 title game. Oregon won it last year, 31-24, in an upset. It was the school’s sixth Pac-12 championship in 12 years and its record fourth championship game victory.
Anthony Brown Will Eventually Lose QB Job
Boston College transfer Anthony Brown will open the season as the Oregon starting QB, but we think it’s only a matter of time before freshman Jay Butterfield or fellow freshman Ty Thompson takes the reins.
Brown appeared in Oregon’s final two games of the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, helping the Ducks defeat USC to secure a second straight Pac-12 title before seeing extended action in the Fiesta Bowl against Iowa State. He finished the year 15-of-23 passing for 164 yards and two touchdowns while rushing seven times for 40 yards and a pair of scores.
Brown had to sit out the majority of last season as Tyler Shough originally beat him out for the job, even though Brown was dealt a short hand by not having much of fall camp to prepare for year one of Joe Moorhead’s offense. Shough transferred this offseason to Texas Tech. When Brown enrolled at Boston College in 2016, none of Oregon’s other quarterbacks even had a drivers’ license yet.
Butterfield redshirted in 2020 but was the nation’s No. 5 pro-style QB recruit in 2020 according to 247Sports. “
I feel like my game is definitely a little different from the other guys,” he said of Oregon’s current QB room. “They’re a little faster and more athletic and I’m more of the sit back in the pocket, maybe take the couple yards if I can get them. But I’m looking to sit in the pocket and try to find the open receiver.”
His last name may be familiar to longtime Oregon fans as Jay’s father, Mark Butterfield, played at Stanford from 1992-1995, throwing for 2,533 passing yards, 19 touchdown passes and 9 interceptions on a 58.3% completion rate as a senior.
Thompson was a five-star recruit and No. 9 player in the country by Rivals. He became the first five-star quarterback ever to sign with Oregon.
Oregon Will Lose Week 2 … Maybe Not Again
While it’s very possible the Ducks run the table in the Pac-12, they are not winning on Sept. 11 at No. 4 Ohio State – but one loss isn’t necessarily a playoff killer as long as it’s competitive. The teams were supposed to player last year but it was canceled as leagues only played in-conference games.
The Buckeyes haven’t lost a regular-season game under head coach Ryan Day. They really haven’t even been challenged. He’s officially 23-2 overall with his only losses coming to Clemson and Alabama in bowl season. The last time Ohio State played Oregon, the Buckeyes beat the Ducks for the 2014 National Championship.
Ohio State is 9-0 all-time against Oregon since 1958, the biggest win coming in 1967, a 30-0 win. The two schools are already scheduled to play each other again in 2032 and 2033.
