Oregon vs Utah Odds | NCAAF Preview and Betting Analysis in Week 9

In the biggest game of the College Football slate for Week 9, the Oregon Ducks and Utah Utes are set to kickoff on Saturday.

The 8th-ranked Oregon Ducks are 6-1, coming off their win over Washington State last week. The win was a bounce back after the loss to Washington the previous week.

For the Utah Utes, they are 6-1 on the season as well. The Utes are coming off a thrilling 34-32 on the road at USC last week. The Utes’ lone loss came on September 29th at Oregon State. They scored just a single touchdown in that loss.

Oregon comes into this game at -6.5 over the Utes.

Ducks Scoring Machines in 2023

The Oregon Ducks started the season by scoring 81 points in their opener. The Ducks have not let off the gas all season, scoring 33 points or more in every game.

On the season, Oregon ranks 2nd in College Football with 47 points per game. Bo Nix, Bucky Irving, and Troy Franklin form one of the best threesome combinations in all of the game.

Oregon is Top 10 in both rushing and passing yards per game. The passing game features Bo Nix and his 2,089 yards and 19 touchdowns. Troy Franklin has been his top target and has caught eight touchdowns on the season.

Bucky Irving had a big game against Washington State and is emerging as one of the elite running backs in the country. Irving has 649 yards and seven touchdowns.

Following this game, the Ducks have California USC and USC at home before a trip to Arizona State.

Utes With the Defensive Shoes

The Oregon Ducks are all offense, while the Utah Utes have been pretty solid defensively. Utah ranks 11th in all of College Football, allowing 15 points per game.

The offense for Kyle Whittingham’s crew has done fine, but mostly on the ground. Ja’Quinden Jackson is the lead running back of a team that is averaging 183.3 yards per game.

The biggest issue for Utah has been the loss of their quarterback Cam Reising. Reising has yet to play this season, and the Utes have seen three quarterbacks. Bryson Barnes, Nate Johnson, and Devaughn Vele have all thrown passes in 2023.

Utah will play back-to-back home games. Next week, Arizona State, who just gave Washington all they could handle will come to town. After that, the Utes have back-to-back road games at Washington and Arizona.

Utah will then finish their regular season at home against the Colorado Buffaloes. The Utes are looking to repeat as Pac-12 champions, as they went to the Rose Bowl a season ago.

Oregon vs Utah Betting Prediction | Ducks Fly High over Utes

The Ducks are a really good offensive team. They struggled a bit at times last week, but overall Bo Nix and his team can really move and score the football. The problem in this game is that the Utes can defend. They have one of the best defensive units in all of College Football.

The biggest issue, though, is the Utah offense. They just cannot match up in games like this. Oregon will score. While it will not be a ton, they are going to score. In the end, too much Oregon offense and not enough Utah offense. Oregon wins this game 27-16. Take Oregon -6.5.
