College Football Odds and Best Betting O/U Picks for Week 8

We had another solid week of picks, but once again came up just short of a perfect week of O/U wagers. Our first 2 picks for Week 7 came in without any problems, but the final game of the 3 let us down, with Arizona and Washington State falling UNDER the point total, ending what would have been a very profitable weekend. Still, we made a little money and can now look ahead to the Week 8 games in hopes of hitting all 3 of our selections for the weekend. With that in mind, let’s get to those college football Week 8 O/U picks.

Baylor Bears at Cincinnati Bearcats

At this stage of the season, you have to say that the goal for both of these teams now is to simply make a bowl game. They both come into this week sitting at 2-4, which means that they need to win 4 more games before the end of the season to be assured of a bowl game. There are zero guarantees for any of these teams, but one thing that I do believe to be something of a guarantee is the OVER. That is the way things have gone for Baylor in each of their last 6 road games, while the Bearcats have seen the OVER hit in 4 of their 6 games this season. I think we get a wide-open offensive football game here with a lot of scoring.

Northwestern Wildcats at Nebraska Cornhuskers

As the total for this game suggests, the bookies are expecting a tight defensive struggle and not a ton of points. I believe, though, that the total has been set low enough for these teams to cross. There are definitely some trends that help make my point here, starting with the fact that the Wildcats have seen 6 of their last 8 games versus teams in the West Division go OVER the point total. The OVER has hit in 4 of the last 5 games for the Cornhuskers, but it should also be noted that the point total crossed 41 points in each of those 5 games. I’m not suggesting we see offensive fireworks flying here, but I do like these two to go OVER 41 points.

Michigan Wolverines at Michigan State Spartans

Last weekend, I played Michigan to go OVER in their game in what looked like a bit of a risky bet, and they were able to deliver the goods, so I am going to roll with them again in this big rivalry game. Over the last 10 meetings between these teams, the O/U has been split right down the middle, which would appear to make this one a bit of a coin flip. That said, Michigan has seen the OVER hit in 3 of their last 6 games versus the East Division, while the Spartans have seen 5 of their last 7 home games played on a Saturday go the way of the OVER.
