NFL 2021 Preseason: Rams vs Broncos Betting Analysis & Prediction

There are Super Bowl aspirations for the Los Angeles Rams this season. As they finish up their preseason and gear up for their Week 1 showdown with the Chicago Bears, the Rams will be heading to Denver to take on the Denver Broncos.

The Rams will bring an 0-2 record to Denver, as they have lost to the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos are on the other end of the spectrum, coming into this one at 2-0. Denver has defeated the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks. With all that in mind, let’s take a closer look at both teams and they arrive into this matchup so you can bet against their NFL Preseason odds.

NFL Betting Preview for Los Angeles Rams at Denver On Aug. 28th

Los Angeles Rams Preview

When the Rams acquired Matthew Stafford from the Lions for Jared Goff and draft picks, the Rams quickly became a Super Bowl favorite. Stafford has yet to suit up for the Rams, and we’re not sure of his status for Saturday night’s affair. Sean McVay has yet to announce how he’ll handle playing time for his starting units.

One area of interest for the Rams will be at the running back position. After Cam Akers was lost for the season due to injury, the Rams had a hole to fill. Darrell Henderson Jr. is the favorite for a bulk of the carries, but Los Angeles just acquired Sony Michel from the New England Patriots, so now Henderson may be splitting carries.

During the preseason, the Rams defense has been quite good. They are hoping that this will carry into the regular season. Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey are two of the top defenders at their respective positions and will lead the Rams defense this season.

Los Angeles brought in Matthew Stafford as the missing piece to a Super Bowl run. We’ll see if that’s all they needed, or if there’s still some work to be done.

Denver Broncos Preview

All of the preseason talk surrounding the Denver Broncos was centered around the starting quarterback position. Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock have been in a fierce battle for the starting spot. Many were predicting that Broncos head coach Vic Fangio wouldn’t make his final decision until after the last preseason game. Well, Fangio made up his mind on Wednesday, and Bridgewater was named as the Week 1 starter.

Denver’s offense played very well in their 30-3 win over Seattle. Bridgewater looked good in his time under center. Running back Royce Freeman and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy have both had very good training camps. The starting running back position in Denver is still up for grabs, as Melvin Gordon, rookie Javonte Williams, and Freeman are all vying for the starting role.

Predictions

Denver is a big favorite in this one, coming into the game favored by 8 points. The Rams offense hasn’t played well during the preseason, and the Broncos defense has been stellar. We also doubt that Stafford will see much action, if any on Saturday, so that won’t help the Rams offense.

We like the Broncos to win this one and cover the spread. Denver wins this one 24-10 and stays undefeated in the preseason.
