It’s another jam packed weekend of rugby betting this weekend with multiple matchups of top five teams in the English Premiership, Top 14, United Rugby, and even the Pro D2. Some of the Rugby Betting Lines look right on point, but others are a bit of a head-scratcher. Here is the weekly rundown.
Weekly Rundown of the Top Rugby Games to Must Bet On | October 19th Edition
English Premiership – Exeter RC Chiefs (-0.5) vs. Saracens FC
Saracens and Sale continue to be the lone undefeated clubs in the English Premiership at 5-0, but 4-1 Exeter will try to close the gap on the top-ranked teams this Saturday. Exeter’s lone loss of the season came against Sale, so they need a win to prove they are in the same league as those top teams.
Top 14 – RC Toulonnais (-16.5) vs. Castres Olympique
Nine teams are within a game of each other on the Top 14 ladder, and two of the four win clubs meet up this weekend, with Toulon a huge favorite over Castres. Toulon can be either really good, like in their 47-0 win over Brive two weeks ago or really bad, like in their 32-5 loss to La Rochelle last Sunday. That still seems like too many points to be giving up to a Castres squad that has won three of their last four.
Top 14 – Stade Toulousain (-8.5) vs. Stade Rochelais
The premier rugby event this weekend is in the French Top 14 league, where top-ranked Toulouse is a -8.5 favorite over second-place La Rochelle. Toulouse’s only loss of the season might be the biggest upset of the year, when they fell 26-16 to 2-5 Pau a month ago. Three of La Rochelle’s five wins have come by five points or less, so they need to prove some legitimacy here.
United Rugby Championship – Benetton Treviso vs. Blue Bulls (-2.5)
Six teams on the United Rugby ladder have three wins this season, and two of them meet up on Friday to kick off the week six slate. The Bulls are favored on the road despite losing their last two games, with Benetton’s 53-8 loss to ninth-place Edinburgh fresh in the oddsmakers’ minds.
United Rugby Championship – The Sharks (-4.5) vs. Ulster Rugby
We’ve got a top-four matchup in the United Rugby league this weekend when the Sharks (3-1) host Ulster Rugby (4-1). The Sharks and Ulster have both lost just one match this season, and it’s come against top-ranked Leinster. Saturday’s contest is a real stepping-stone game for both teams.
Pro D2 – Stade Montois (-8.5) Rugby vs. SU Agen
The best matchup of the Pro D2 slate this weekend sees fourth place Mont-de-Marsan (4-3) a favorite hosting third place Agen (4-3). Mont-de-Marsan has alternated wins and losses their last four matches, which leaves them in line for a victory after falling 28-23 to Rouen Normandie Rugby last week. Agen has some value here on a three-game win streak.
