Rugby League Betting Lines Round 23: Top Games, Picks, and Odds

We are getting down to the wire in the NRL regular season, with each team now down to just 4 or 5 games left to play.

While we can basically officially eliminate a couple of teams from any shot at finishing in the top 8, the rest of the teams are still in with a fighting chance of playing on beyond the regular season.

My Analysis for Round 23 top games

We say this every week, but it’s something that has to be repeated, which is that things are still pretty much wide open, to the point that predicting where each team will finish becomes increasingly difficult.

The next round of games is coming our way this weekend, so let’s take a look at 4 games that we really like on the NRL schedule in Round 23.

Gold Coast Titans -179 vs Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks +147

Fri Aug 9, 4:00 AM | The pressure is very much on the Titans right now, as they come into this week sitting outside the top 8, down in 11th place.

They are 4 points out of the final playoff spot, but only 4 points back.

They have been dealing with the pressure quite well and have now won 4 of their last 5 games overall. They have had issues at home, though, going 4-6.

The Sharks are on 30 points and look set to be in the top 8 but given that they are just 2-2 in their last 4 games, they would like to get back to winning ways before the end of the regular season.

Canberra Raiders +139 vs Manly Sea Eagles -175

Fri Aug 9, 1:00 AM | The Raiders are another team that is in desperate need of a win, as they are on 24 points, which has them 2 points back from the top 8.

They have been up and down of late, going 2-2 in their last 4 games, but they have been decent at home, winning 6 of the 10 games in their own building.

The Sea Eagles are currently sitting in the #7 spot, but they are far from safe given how tight it is down by the cut line.

They have won 3 of their last 4, but they are also just 2-6 on the road.

St George Illawarra Dragons +122 vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs -152

Sat Aug 10, 5:35 AM | Both of these teams are currently in the top 8, but there is a chance that we might see that change after this weekend.

The Dragons are clinging to the final spot, but they are also just 2 points above the cut line.

They are 2-2 over the last 5 games, but they will be tough to beat at home, going 5-3 this season. The Bulldogs are in 5th and only 2 points ahead of their opponent right now.

The Bulldogs are 3-1 in their last 4, but they are also just 2-8 in road games this season.

Dolphins (Nrl) -244 vs New Zealand Warriors +186

Sat Aug 10, 12:00 AM | There is some real pressure on both teams here, but particularly the Warriors, who are 5 points out of the top 8.

A loss this weekend could well mean the end of the road, and you have to say that things look bleak for a team with just 1 win in the last 4, as well as a 2-7 road record.

The Dolphins are in the #9 spot and could potentially crack their way into the top 8 with a win.

They have a 1-3 record in their last 4 and a losing record at home, so no guarantee of a win here.
